Hey dudes, im planning to move to florida and live there and shit. Anyways, i found a website called Louisiana Herps and it shows to range of the specific species. Now i want something similar to florida, so i can know what species lives where and stuff.
http://www.floridabackyardsnakes.com
Not shitting on you, best way I've found is google something like "Florida frog species" or "Florida native snake species"
I live in VA but do the same thing to research species around here and have good luck.

Are you gonna be herping in the field? Looking for specific herps?
If I were you I'd just go about my business regularly and snap a photo of any herps I come across, then ID them using online sources.
Been to FL twice; probably the best herp state in the lower 48 imo
Back door frog anon here,
I found where the two frogs are living!
>>2198146
So now what?
Picture of one of the frogs.
>>2198149
Shit man, I dunno. I'm not a frogologist. They seem happy enough there. I don't know if I get them maybe a toad house or something to put on the ground if they would live in it, they seem to like being up high
SO CUTE!
why would a frog live in a toad house???
I have had this month old chihuahua poodle mix for a week now. I have trying to potty train him any way I can and have had no hope at all. My boy friend is losing patience with him and slowly so am I. It has gotten to the point where I have to lock him in his kennel with his doggy pad and he refuses to be outside with out crying at the top of his lungs. Even sometimes I will let him out of the kennel and the first thing he does is go and look for a place to pee. is there anything else I can do to train him?

anyone, please help
How old? Because there's no way you own a 1 month old.
He is only one month old, and the biggest in the litter being borne first.
Any snake owners out there, if I were to clean this tank out and fit it up properly, would it be a good enclosure for my 4 foot almost adult male ball python? He already has a 40 gallon long tank, but it's really hard to maintain a good humidity for him so I thought about moving him around. Soda can for scale, I think the tank is 35 gallons.
>>2198039
Shameless self bump
I only have a corn snake so I don't have much knowledge but from a general pet owner of many lizards and trantulas , I would just give it a try and see how it goes, are you willing to spend any money ?
>>2198039
not enough floor space, this tank is better for small, arboreal animals
so no, nothing for a ball python
Hey, I came across these when walking with my dog, I usually pick up mushrooms I know are edible but was unsure if these.
Would be great if someone knew what kind these are.
Little brown mushroom. Almost impossible to identify.
wouldnt eat lol
Never ever eat a wild mushroom unless you are 100% positive as to what it is. Don't even try it if you're 'pretty sure'. Thats how people die.

I vaccinated my cat for rabies yesterday. today he bit me. Should I get a rabies shot myself?
He didn't have rabies, but my vet told me that the rabies vaccine makes the animal rabid until he develops immunity to it. I think she's full of shit as I haven't found anything of the sort on the internet.
So I'm here now. should I get a rabies shot because my recently vaccinated cat bit me?
>>2197822
Rabies will either kill you, or you'll be put into a coma to survive it and end up a vegetable.
I'd call your vet just to be safe.
>>2197827
My doctor told me I didn't need the shot. My vet told me I needed the shot. I am so confused atm.
>>2197835
Well, listen to the one that treats people, not animals. He's the expert.
Dog keeps shitting in the same spot every time my dad leaves the house in the morning to go to work
Shes toilet trained, usually goes in the back garden or waits until I take her for a walk.
But this habit has developed recently where, even when she has access to the garden, she goes straight to the same spot in the living room and squeezes out a turd
Its gotta be seperation anxiety right? She loves my dad more than life itself and always goes bonkers when he comes home, sometimes she sits on the windowside waiting to see his car pull up
What do to help snap her outta the habit and get her to cope with him being gone during the day?
Direct her outside after he leaves. Don't let her get to that spot
>>2197808
man dogs like this creep me out. dogs are cool, but I don't think I could own one given how dependent they are.
>>2197846
She's loving and fun to have around but she's still essentially a simpler version of a child you have to look after and shit.
Hard work senpai
There's no dinosaur thread up. Well, that's not good. How about ones dedicated to feathered dinosaurs? Talk coloring, patterns, feathers, whatever.
Also, dumping a bit of dinosaur art.
What are some Youtubers you follow thaf post animal related content? And I don't count "Cute animal videos".
I don't know how accurate they are but I enjoy TREY The Explainer and ThePrehistoricMaster. Matthew The Dinosaur King also has some interesting videos if you're into dinosaur collectables and toys. Rattielover713 and RatGirl44 are my main sources for educational rat videos.

Kikopup for dog training. I often refer people to her videos if they are having trouble training. Sometimes it's nice to have a visual of what you're supposed to do.
I was thinking of making YouTube videos of breeds of animals, probably starting with dogs. I was looking into breed info on YouTube and they were either nonexistent, had Microsoft Sam talking, or they really skimmed a lot of information. So I thought I could do that shit myself. However I'm not sure if my voice would be any better than Microsoft Sam, and I'm not sure if anyone would care about it.
I remember I unsubbed National Geographic's page a few years ago because they were posting BS. They seem to have gotten back on track though.

ZakGeorge and Kikopup for dog training. Ferret-world for educational ferret videos.
What did I just find in my garden, /an/?
East England
Some beetle larva.
its a grub. they destroy your yard and turn into big beetles
>>2197686
Neat
What does /an/ think of the Beak Bubble?
>>2197677
As a bird person, if you can't do those things without traumatizing your bird you probably shouldn't have a bird.
>>2197682
>traumatizing
>a bird
top kek, anon
You know where the word "birdbrain" comes from?

>>2197674
What the fuck is wrong with you? You pick up a pest off of the streets and now you're photographing it's asshole?
>>2197690
My guess is that this may have happened

STOP RAPING THE STRAYS, BILLY!
Could use some advice.
I have a dog and a cat, both indoor pets. My dog caught fleas and the cat has them now too. My dog takes sentinel every month which is a flea and tick preventative. He's had a couple flea baths and is wearing a flea collar. I caught one flea on him since taking him to the vet a couple days ago.
I keep pulling a handful of fleas off of my cat when I run a comb through him. I put harts ultra guard on his neck. Seems like that was a waste of money. I gave the cat a flea bath too. He still had fleas the next morning. I've washed all laundry and blankets, and vacuum everyday.
What more can I do? It's mainly my cat that is having it the worst right now.
>>2197659
Ever since feeding my animals anti-flea tablets I've never had a problem.
>>2197661
Did they have a flea problem prior? What tablets do you feed?
>>2197669
Tablets?
How do people typically handle the situation of leaving behind your family dogs when you leave home? I'm in college now and while I still see them whenever I go home, I don't feel ready to set off on my own life let alone seperate from my best buddies. What about when they grow old and you're not sure when their time is coming?
ask to take dog with you when you move out
>>2197298
A lot of college students are living in dorms or apartments that don't allow pets. Even if they did, they don't have adequate room for them.
Also many freshmen (and up) have busy or unpredictable schedules due to school which of course do not mesh well with a dog's constant and unrelenting need to eat and go outside.
I don't know. I'm nearly 19 and just staying home until my two pets croak. I have a 16 year old cat, and a 10 year old dog who had lymphoma and it's only a matter of time before it's back, while saving money to leave. How old are your pets? Do you need to get out of your house right away?
What the FUCK is this thing, /an/?
I found it on my barbecue. Do I need to contact an exterminator? Is it poisonous? The red legs are creeping me out, I was afraid to touch it.
No to both of your questions. It's a grasshopper, where the hell do you live where you don't know what a grasshopper is?
Pretty sure grasshoppers don't have bright red aposematic limbs, chief.

Better set a massive fire, OP! These are an alien invasive species. They can read your mind and alter your will! Make sure none survive!!!
