Hello MOD. This is very much a Animal and Nature Thread. (Now skip to the bottom, MOD)
This thread isn't about how much or how badly you'd like to abuse an animal. It's about your past mistakes(which some may have had and learned from), such as being ignorant and accidentally feeding your Dog chocolate or any mistakes that may bring harm to your loved one. Even once, of your own willing volition.
We all make mistake and anyone wishing to divulge their misdeeds, have free reign. (I think this is important MOD)
>>2362192
This/that thread that I made was so some people can speak about their past mistakes and come to terms with it. As well as speak about the sin's they've witnessed being perpetrated against our furry friends. (I know I came across as fucked up but i'm just being honest. I've got sadder stories to tell....)
>The last thread
>Brush it under the doormat
>It never happened
You can't ignore the fact that animals are abused. Nor can you ignore the complacency others have in the matter. (Now look at the 3rd paragraph MOD!)
Pic related. I plan on getting a ridge-back in the future. Seriously

You've been posting about gettign a fucking ridgeback for 3 years or more now.
A long time ago I had an old rabbit with partial paralysis that I should've had euthanised a lot earlier than I did and I still feel bad about how long I made him hang in there. Poor old thing couldn't keep himself clean anymore and we were washing the shit off him twice daily with this medicated wash from the vet but it stressed him and I feel bad about that too. Poor thing.
He was put to sleep after we went out for the afternoon and came home to find he'd pulled his hay down from the feed rack and it was tangled around his back feet. One of them had swollen to a little bigger than a golf ball.
I have so many regrets and I wish I'd looked after that poor rabbit better.
We also had a cat that was grain intolerant but this was back before there was any sort of general knowledge about cats and their diets, so the dear old fellow spent his entire life on Purina hairball formula and licked his back bald. He got cancer in the end.
Hey /an/ I won't bother you with long details, but about 2 years ago these fuckers have been crawling on my car, I honestly thought I was rid of them last year but lo and behold they're back. They only come out at night and at first I though the were brown recluses, but their aren't any brown recluse populations in Florida plus they have no violin shaped mark. Narrowed it down to it being either yellow sac spiders or garden ghost spiders. Either way I want them out for the obvious reason of not having one of them crawl on me in an enclosed space going at high velocities.
I am about to set of a bug bomb or two and dowse the area surroundings my car with the strongest pesticide available.
Would this resolve my problem? What else can I do to eradicate this menace once and for all?
leave spiders alone fag
>>2362312
Spiders are based, OP is a fag
>>2362312
Are you dumb? Do you think spiders are fucking ants or something? What exactly do you think they're feeding on in your car?
I'm thinking about getting a cat to keep outside so that it can chase away birds and rats and stuff
Have any of you done this? The cat would be exclusively outside because I have terrible allergies to cats.
Are there certain cat breeds that are better than others for outside? It gets down to about -20°F where I live
Fuck your couch
>>2362225
>It gets down to about -20°F where I live
Actually cats are responsible for the extinction of quite a few bird species.
And if you don't get them fixed then you're contributing to all the stray cats in your community.
Over the years my cat seems to have unlearned how to use the litter box, and refuses to use it unless locked in a small room with it. This wasn't a problem in the past, as he would just go in our back yard, but a few years ago he was traumatized and refuses to go outside anymore. I've tried putting him in the box after naps, playtime, or meals, but that doesn't work. I lock him in a small room for a week (with food and frequent visits, of course) with just the litter box to go in, and slowly open up the house for him room by room after each successful week, but that doesn't stick either.
I'm at a loss at what to do, I'm starting to think that maybe rehabilitating him to go outdoors would be the best option, but I'm worried it'll traumatize him more or he'll get himself hurt.
>>2362012
Is the litter box actually cleaned every day?
It seems like you are the cause of his problems.
>>2362024
Yes.
Maybe talk to a vet. Seems like a pretty obnoxious problem and people here are just going to reeee at you for having an outdoor cat.
Which one of you pencildicks started the campaign to name the baby "Giraffey McGiraffeface"?
>>2361820
It doesn't matter. Toys R Us has already bought the rights and are sponsoring it. It's gonna be name after the mascot either way.
he is a little giraffey mcgiraffeface, though. isn't he?
>>2361835
Toys R Us still exists?
Found this guy hanging out in the house tonight, can anyone identify what kind it is?
It's a moth
Looks like a White-Lined Sphinx moth.
Name?
>>2361610
What a cute meme dog.

Is it normal for pelicans to eat pigeons like this one?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWxIOdt-V8Y
it's part of their savage charm
they will try to eat right sized everything
meanwhile I'm searching 'pelicans with holes in their pouch', and it seems their pouch is as tender as it looks. So extra retarded birds are paying with their life I guess
Do they kill them while theyre in the pouch or do they swallow them alive?
>>2361582
op pelican doesn't look like it's purposefully drowning the pigeon, just tries to flush the wiggly fucker down
I have a pit bull terrier and I love her to death but the problem is I barely take her for walks. She isn't overweight or depressed but it makes me feel bad because I can't walk her. Am I a bad owner?
if you can't walk your dog at least once a day then yes you're a bad owner
wish more dog owning idiots would understand this, its bad for the dog
>>2361196
The thing is I have a very large yard and let her out half a hour for every 2 hours and regularly play with her and give her toys to play with along with another dog. As I said does this still make me an ass?
>>2361196
>Uneducated = bad
I think you're the idiot anon
My cat is pretty skinny.
He's a one year old siberian neutered male weighing 4,4 kg.
I feed him grain-free wet food as a base, with some dry food as a supplement because I was given a 20 kg bag as a gift when I got him.
I've tried a couple different wet foods, as well as making home made raw cat food. I occasionally try to give him little bits of different meats or fish, either raw (which he generally won't touch) or boiled without salt (which he'll eat, sometimes).
He eats very little though, and the vet said he should probably weigh a bit more for his size. Any tips on making him eat more?
Make your own jerky. cats like jerky, and it's healthier than the shit from the supermarket.
Take strips of brisket and marinade them without salt, pop them in the oven at 175 for about four hours.
stupid but how hot is your climate?
maybe your long hair cat is having a trouble with your climate.
how is he reacting to opened freezer/fridge?
will he play with an ice cube if you toss it to him?
what about those drug store bruise help cold source pouches?
>>2360898
If he's not malnourished, leave him alone.
My one month old hamster head is tiled and he is not able to walk properly and he is running in circles please help I don't know what's the cause of this and I am planning to goto the vet. Thank you
Maybe a concusion. my neighbors dog hit its head and it didn't walk right for 3 weeks and stared at its own shadow...
its alright now for the most part but still a little fucked up.
disorientation isn't usually a good sign
>>2360795
I'm guessing an ear infection? Hope the vet has good news for you.
Poor thing, go to the vet as soon as possible, I hope you hamham gets well.
>Really close to cat
>Had to put cat down
>Was a wreck for a while, still can't bring it up without choking up
>Debating on getting one or two catters following this
>What I really like with cats is just how they always chill around me/cuddle on me (I'm a straight male, go figure)
>Got one for now, fast forward a year, I love her and she's a great cat but a lot more on the hyper end that I like to deal with and doesn't cuddle as much as I'd like her to; obviously that's just her personality (and she's still young) and I'm not complaining
>Thinking of getting a second for cuddling/chilling purposes when she doesn't want to also to keep her busy when I don't feel like playing
I have a couple questions;
1. I really just like sharing a strong bond with a cat and feel like that bond wouldn't be nearly as strong if I'm splitting it with another cat; is this nonsense? Up until recently I had two dogs (put one down last saturday, I'll save the sob story and details) but couldn't get nearly as close to them as I could with cats. It's hard to explain but I just like how there's a relationship of "me and them" and don't know if a second cat would kind of mess that up. I feel like I won't be able to get attached to two nearly as well as I could with one
2. Is my first cat just going to end up spending time with the second cat instead of me? I like how cats actually WANT to spend a lot of time with me and this could either result in fighting for my affection or ignoring me
I know this sounds stupid, but I'm introverted and don't spend a lot of time around people and cat bros make me fine with that (without them I'd still not really want to be around people a lot), they're what I like turning to when I have a hard day, not girlfriends or friends. As this is going to be a rather big part of my life for 10-20 years I'm doing this carefully
it's really impossible to say because cats very much have their own personalities and preferences, especially when it comes to interacting with other animals and people.
your cat might end up hating another cat, or your new cat might hate your current cat. really tough to say! you're just not going to know until you give it a shot.
>>2360567
Have you looked into specific breeds? Because Tonkinese are probably perfect for you.
Is it possible to keep tapeworms from a dog/cat alive inside a fish tank?
-fill up tank with fresh water
-let tapeworms swim and do whatever
-occasionally drop food in water
Or are they only capable of living inside of a mammal?
>>2360463
I'm kinda tempted to try to culture some tapeworms in a bucket of saline now.
>>2360463
well I'd imagine the water would have to be body temperature and have the salinity/ph/ect of an intestine
speaking of which a tank may not suffice since an animals ass isn't too spacious
>>2360463
try reading up on basic tapeworm biology, what you wrote sounds like you have absolutely no idea how they work
What are good dog safe plants suitable for a small north facing garden in the south east uk?
My knowledge of plants is limited to indoor succulents, and roses.
I'm a fan of white flowers and plants that are useful but to be honest my knowledge is rather lacking.
Anyone?
>>2360482
It's a slow board mang.
You could also try the homegrowmen thread over in /out/

Apologises, sometimes I forget that.
I'll have a look around.
