hey, can anyone please help me figuring out what these plants are? I'm a first time veggie grower wannabe, got a bit over - excited and planted way too much. Now I'm not sure if those are weeds or food.
>>2407365
one on the right is maybe papaya? Left could maybe be some form of sweet potato? If you planted them that is.
Marijuana, put it in yo pipe and smoke it
>>2407365
It would help if you told us what you planted
>trail near my work
>bug trees on both sides
>always take walks during break
>take walk today
>hear crow
>keep walking
>it keeps flying from tree to tree, following me
>CAW CAW CAW
>feeling a little worried
>crow dives right at me, missing by about two inches
>I run back to work
>it keeps cawing and diving
>make it inside just in time
What the fuck?
What did I do wrong?
Crows can recognize faces. It's possible this one didn't see so well, and mistook you for a human that's harassed it in the past.

Could megafauna live in today's Earth? I mean, with this atmosphere and climate.
Most specifically, Pleistocene megafauna
>>2407122
most of the animals you know of today are megafauna.
you are megafauna.
>>2407124
Sure, by definition so is any animal weighting 44 kl and up. I mean things like mammoths, great flying birds, gigantopithecus, and such.
Hello, sorry about this, but do any of you know what species my dog might be?
I took him to the vet and they didn't know, although said vet might be retarded. Had him for about 3 years.
How can I help the local crow population?
Since the county started paying a bounty of 5$ (Norway) for every pair of crow feet and later upped it to 10$ a pair, the population has gone down. Crows and magpies used to be a welcome friend around these parts, now they are talking about wiping out the entire population
Why would Norway do this?
Unfortunately, the best gift you can give to them is to teach them to fear humans like the plague.

Trying get in touch with some philantrophist animal lover, this law isn't a very common one i would say
Feed the crows I guess? That's helping them. You could also dress up as a crow and beat up your fellow norways.
>super territorial guard dogs exist that pretty closely resemble golden retrievers
mind = blown
is this the ultimate trolljob?
>the difference is this brainlet tumor thing
o-oh no...
hovawarts, boring looking dog.
Hovawarts are god-tier doggos. Grew up with one - the most loving and gentle dog you could ask for, but was ready to fuck up everyone who posed a threat
I have a Landseer now who doesn't even wake up when a stranger (friends, acquaintances etc) enters the house
I live in the D.C. / tristate area and found this roach in my basement. Do any of you know what type this is and whether it's (hopefully) just a wood roach or if I need an exterminator. Also I live in a rural area. Thanks my m/an/s
>>2406623
shit that there's is a queen roach that lays all the eggs
No it's a bedbug
>>2406623
Kill it pls.
To dog owners out there, what do you feed your doggos?
I have a 9kg 5 month old pup, been giving her mostly kibble with puppy formula and 1 raw egg a day including shell. She gets a little piece of cold carrot as a treat once in a while. Wondering how I can change it up.
I like to rotate kibble because the chances that any one brand has the exact right balance of micronutrients is low, and if you're rotating through brands and flavours you're offering up differing balances all the time so you're unlikely to get any major deficiencies.
>>2406499
jesus. she's like an anime dog. hug that bitch and never let go. also an egg a day seems much for a such a lil pup
>>2406499
Hold up, I didn't read that right the first time. Puppy formula, as in, milk? She doesn't need milk at 5 months. She should've been weaned by 2 months, and in fact most dogs lose their ability to digest milk after they are weaned.
Either feed her a decent kibble intended for all life stages, or switch her to a puppy specific kibble.
Check out dogfoodadvisor.com for more information on good and bad dog food brands.

Egg whites can pull certain nutrients from the dog. Can't remember how but it might have something to do with how they're digested, or something they're lacking. Egg yolks can help balance the loss out, and eggshell is definitely good sources of calcium. I wouldn't feed more than one or two eggs a week, though.
Are dogs distressed when you hold or hug them?
It depends on your relationship with said dog. Imagine if you will, for a moment, your great aunt Julia, from the old country, with the blue hair and costume jewelry, red lipstick and smelling of a fine antique perfumed talcum.
>Give aunt Julia a kiss. She wants her kisses anon. You only see her twice a year, just kiss her!
Now, imagine your slightly older cousin. Is he your uncle or your cousin? Is he dad's cousin? Don't matter. He's married to a hottie. 8.5/10. No kids, hard body, laughs and smiles, rode bmx in High School, know a little vidya. She wants a hug goodbye after a holiday visit.
>Okay, thanks, see you soon, I'll be in my bunk.
It's alot like that for dogs.
My dog actively tries to get me to pick him up.
He likes being carried and getting to be high up.
Yes.
They don't like someone's arm around their neck, but they will tolerate it.
can apes really sign, or are they just faking it for bananas? will we ever communicate by language with a non-primate species, like when there was talking dolphins in SeaQuest and Johnny Mnemonic?
That gorilla really looks like an aboriginal. Scienece is amazing.

What do you guys think of zoos?
I went to pic related today, and the animals looked, well, for zoo animals they looked pretty okay. Some of the enclosures were quite large, some were quite small.
But they were all captives, a cheetah was out for a walk at one point with his handlers, i also saw two dingos out for a walk, and while they all looked like they were having a nice time, I kinda wanted them to be free to chase gazelle and nick babies.
theres got to be a line somewhere, zoos do some good, but it comes at a cost. Some zoos do a better job than others, Tokyo zoo for example definitely treat their animals worse than Australia zoo. I also have a vague recollection of Melbourne zoo having big enclosures, but I haven't been there for ten years.
Where is the line?
>>2403455
>Tokyo zoo for example definitely treat their animals worse than Australia zoo.
Yeah, I was quite disappointed by the size and quality of the enclosures in Ueno zoo. I guess that's what you get for a $5.50 entrance fee.
Going to Tiergarten Schönbrunn in Vienna felt so much nicer afterwards.
I like the walkways between enclosures they built at the Philadelphia Zoo for the animals to cruise around in
i like how better zoos are veering away from large showy animals like elephants and tigers and bears and shit. keeping instead smaller, dumber animals better suited to captivity that are ultimately more interesting to observe
Discuss anything aquarium related here, including inhabitants, decor and issues.
Google is your friend.
Feel free to ask questions but know that there are a lot of resources out there that could answer your question a lot faster and accurately than /an/.
Make sure to include these things in your post before asking because we can't help you if we don't have the full picture:
-tank size (include dimensions, not just volume)
-parameters (ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, pH, GH, KH)
-any and all inhabitants + how long you've had them

What fish are vertical tanks for? My tank has a huge algae bloom problem (the water itself is mountain dew green), is this bad for the fish?
Please no bully - I want to be a better fish owner
>>2409136
Vertical tanks aren't for many fish. Fancy goldfish and angelfish are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head, and even with them normal tanks will probably be better.
