Redpill me on cats.
My last rat just died, and no matter how inherently superior rats are to other animals, I can't get another one because it's too sad for me. But I need another animal because I'm lonely and people won't have me.
A cat would be ideal for me, but I've never been around cats long enough and desu I'm just not sold on them as an animal.
Is it possible to lower myself enough to become a cat person, after I have ascended from dog to rat person?
Cats are fantastic. I've owned cats and dogs my entire life (so I'm not a biased fanboi), as well as herbs and fish, and my current cat is my best animal friend.
They can be raised to mind their own business or be attached at your hip (kind of depends on breed as well), so you can basically make them into an animal that fits your needs. Of course cats do need some attention regardless though, and should be played with for a minimum of 30 minutes a day, and get pets and brushed. But most of the day they just lounge around, whether that's near you or in their own little kitty sanctuary is up to you.

Oh? I've been told by my shitty relatives that cats are essentially random, and their personality is independent of their owner. I suspected this was horeseshit because those people are idiots.
So if I want I can make a cat really needy and affectionate? Thats what I want because I like cuddling animals all day and I have low self esteem.
cats are stinky, diseased garbage and they live longer than you'll care to have them around
pick literally any other pet
How do you clean your cat litter? Guy in the pet shop said 4lt of litter would last 1 month but mine depletes in 2 weeks.
Depends on what type of litter you are using. Are you using clumping or non-clumping? What type of material is it made out of?
Also, don't use perfumed litter, it's bad for cats.
>>2411829
Clumping with thin particles. It looks like this.
>>2411825
Guy at the pet shop can't smell and is too lazy to scoop.
What kind of bird is this? It didnt move at all, not even when tourists approached it. Also is that kind of behaviour normal for such a bird?
Location? That's a young gull (seagull). Looks pretty sickly.
Looks good for juvenile Herring Gull. Location would confirm this.
>>2411802
Valencia in Spain
It just made small steps every now and then but other than that it didnt react to anything happening around it, eyes were closed at the time
>>2411805
Yeah it's a sickly juvenile Yellow-leggged Gull then. Only common large gull in Valencia in June.
Is it worth the money to get a breed dna test? I'm just so curious what this little dude is mixed with, besides the Shepherd. He's one year, 55 pounds, sister has some faint brindle. Boxer?
If you have the cash to burn, they are fun. It won't change how much you love your dog or anything.
>>2411258
I want I get a test on this on this boy. We know pit and we think red Doberman but we don't know what else
>>2411273
You can tell where the pit is in that classic shit colored nose
How is it possible that this species of shark is only found in both the Antartic and Arctic waters? How did it get to both regions? Don't say they swam all the way from both poles because then why aren't they found in between them?
>>2410917
>Don't say they swam all the way from both poles
they do it all the time
>because then why aren't they found in between them?
water's not cold enough for them there so they don't stay. also their prey is found at the poles
>>2410917
sleeper sharks are a family, not one species
>>2410927
So convergent evolution?
The hell is this kid? Rest in peace.
It's a cicada. Not to sound like an autistic faggot, but it really is surprising when people ask about them. Where you from OP?
How you don't know cicadas
Brown recluse
Corgi Pictures
They're too pure for this world
>>2410583
Why do people in this board hate Corgis? It's not like they're grotesquely deformed like those fucking toad-like pitbulls.
They're very friendly and playful dogs.
>>2410585
>not deformed
Their legs are half as long as they should be

Honestly /an/, what's the purpose of Silverfish? They're literally serve no purpose in any ecosystem.
>>2408285
all biomass is consumed at some trophic level(s).
>>2408285
Decomposers, prey species for spiders, centipedes, earwigs, and other small predators, as well as hosts to various parasites.
That said, this sorta mind set really irks me, because most of the time people ask this, they actually mean "How does it benefit me or the cute/cool animals I like?"
>>2408285
I hate them because brown recluses love them.
yo have you ever noticed that bullfrogs are cool as shit. goddamn i love bullfrogs
I think so too ^^
SMASHED
>goddamn i love bullfrogs
I can't stop fucking laughing
It's been so long since I heard the "snake hypnosis" (fetish art aside) or "ostrich burying their heads in sand" imo
Forgotten animals facts are welcome as well.

Congratulations, that's probably the funniest thing I've read this week
>>2406806
I have soggy boys but no one will buy them.
They're mostly around 8-9 inches relaxed. Way bigger than me.
