How does /an/ feel about rodeo?
>people that don't actually know what rodeo is will make an opinion
16 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
P.S. Ask someone who tried college rodeo in freshman year anything.
>>
I live in Calgary and there is a big annual rodeo/festival thing here. For me it depends on the specific event. I am okay with stuff like bull riding as the bull is less likely to be injured in that than the guy trying to ride it. Or any of the horse related stuff that isn't harmful to the horses is fine as well.

Events i have problems with:

1. Chuck wagon races. Horses die in this event regularly. It's too dangerous and needs to stop.
2. Calf roping. I don't know the injury rates for this event but there doesn't seem to be any sport to it. It's literally lasso this little baby cow, jump on it from off a horse, full force body slam it on to its back and then tie up its legs. Fucking stupid.
>>
>>2435722
1. The breeding is too dangerous. Chuckwagon racehorses are usually retired OTTB (off the track thoroughbred). The only concern given to the breeding of the thoroughbred in the last century is SPEED. Not endurance or hard feet or anything that would concern a horse's quality of life or that made the thoroughbred a great breed once. OTTB horses can be very finicky and fragile because of this.
2. The sport to it is that it's fucking hard.
It's a timed event. It's a race. The point is to have the calf tied without it breaking loose in the least time possible. I think the world record is somewhere around three seconds.
>Of course it doesn't fucking look hard when you're watching the best pro rodeo cowboys in the world compete at THE Calgary Stampede.
Go to a college rodeo and watch some rookies struggle hard.

How can I meet girls that /an/?
My major is predominantly female (equine industry), but I've decided horse girls are crazy and not even necessarily animal lovers.
I'm thinking of doing some volunteer stuff but I don't want to date a VEGAN and shit
21 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
Pretty much everything animal-related (vetmed, rescue, training) is predominantly female. Volunteer at a humane society, 90% of them are going to be girls.

Horse chicks ARE crazy though, you aren't wrong. Herp girls tend to be pretty weird too.

all full blown /an/ women are going to be nutso. just find a girl with a well behaved dog who isn't scared of spiders or snakes

I wouldn't mind weird. I'm weird.
Horse girls are legitimately crazy. Like on drugs crazy. 95% they're full of shit and don't even like most animals.

O segmented one, O nightmare many legged thing,-- I had rather watched a trireme run ashore here in my own town for to pillage than to lay eyes upon this imitation, this false triremical horror-- O imbricated vileness, O proof of true devils! testament to the everlasting fire! I spit at thee, I hate thee-- I kill myself, and spit at thee hanging-- i go to the spirit realm where thou canst never find me more

Well your shitty grammar means you'd fit right in. I live next to a national park. Lots of easy jobs to get there. I'd get a job there first and put that on my resume. Don't know what qualifications or certs you'd need to do what you specifically want.

A few months ago I had to let my aunt care for my dog while I was away on a job. Upon returning from my job I was informed that it's not my dog anymore. My family thinks im overreacting about it and that I can just "buy a new dog" it's my dog, I trained him, I cared for him, and now it pisses me off when my aunt visits holding my dog and fawning over him, even refusing to let me hold him or play with him.
However my cat was returned without a glance or another mention.
Why do family members members turn to shit when you have a nice pet.

Discuss anything aquarium related here, including inhabitants, decor and issues.

Google is your friend.
Feel free to ask questions but know that there are a lot of resources out there that could answer your question a lot faster and accurately than /an/.

Make sure to include these things in your post before asking because we can't help you if we don't have the full picture:
-tank size (include dimensions, not just volume)
-parameters (ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, pH, GH, KH)
-any and all inhabitants + how long you've had them

What kind of clownfish is this? Just a common one?

My wife got it at an Ace Hardware and I want to know what kind of anemone to get for it. Does anyone know?
>>
>>2432547

>>
>>2432547
that's a tank-bred Amphiprion ocellaris, or false percula clownfish. AKA ocellaris clownfish. Yes, it is a common one.

It does not need an anemone and any anemone you buy for it will die in less than a month. If you insist on getting an anemone to kill, you need one of the expensive ones. Bubble-tips are common clownfish hosts. Avoid the cheap ones (Condy's or Condylactis anemones) they kill and eat clownfish.

Not a chance. Most loyal breed I've owned. GSDs were very loyal but weren't nearly as loving, liked to sleep on their own. Rottweiler was extremely loving as well, and would sleep on the foot of my bed.

My golden? This dude sleeps with his head on my shoulder or chest every night. If I push him off to turn on my side or anything, he finds a way to cuddle up right next to me. I don't even need blankets in the summer because he is a space heater. Licks my face in the morning right after he licks he balls (I'm guessing) to wake me up for breakfast and to go to the dog park (which we only go to twice a week unfortunately). Love this guy.
