Hi /adv/.
I just moved out and I'm now gonna be studying at a uni. I got a lot of scholarships and my school is paid for. I had a job before and I had to quit sadly. I worked as a theater usher/team member (I did a little bit of everything) and it was a solid part timer. The local theater doesn't have any openings for ushers or team members so now I have to figure out what else I would like to do and since I'm at a massive college town I got a lot of competition too. What are some great college weekend jobs? I thought about pizza delivery but something tells me it might be dangerous. Is stocking for Walmart or grocery stores a good idea?

what kind of degree are you going for? do you have any weak areas that you can improve through a job like socialization?
Oh hey look, someone making a thread on /adv/ who isn't miserable!
I can't recommend anything in a storage or logistic environment, when i had a student job there i was being paid minimum for hard work.
You should look for a job at your university, preferably in the field you are in.

I'm going in for a Comp Sci degree. I just recently earned an associate of arts degree which is a fancy name for a general studies degree. The theater job helped with socialization and with dealing with customers and rude people. It has made me a better person. Thought my biggest fear is learning a new workplace environment. The theater had a very relaxed environment and everybody knew each other. If there was a problem, we all talked about it. I have Asperger's so I guess my weak spot is motor skills. I'm a pretty active person but I can tell I'm more physically awkward than some other people.

I could but I think most of it is for people looking to earn money to put towards their tuition. Mine is paid for and I'm just looking to make a personal amount of money.

At my uni job in germany it made no difference what i earn the money for, i mean it's on your account after the month just like at some other place.
Can't really imagine they'd combine that with tuition fees as this is usually always your own shit to deal with.

In the US, It's called Work Study and it is usually done when you need to make money to pay loans and stuff. I don't think I can do it for my own personal benefit.
I'm pretty lucky. Sure, the states' have issues with student debt but If you can make good grades at school and live in a state that has great government scholarships, you can come out with no debt at all.
