How much time would /adv/ need for going out and such before proposing?
Inb4 don't get married.
Three-ish years together or when the younger of you is in their mid-20s, whichever is later.
At least 2 year, preferably 4ish. Most relationships fall apart around 6 months, and then the next hurdle seems to be 2 years. By 3 I'd say you've seen every side to that person. Divorces are expensive and hard. Don't jump into a marriage.
Anything under a year seems pretty ridiculous to me; even then, I think two to four is where I'd consider it.
>too long
Nigga, if I'm marryin' I'm spending like thirty; if she can't wait four, she can get the fuck away from me.
Thanks for replies. So far year and 3 months in and we did have our 6 month hurdle and another one right after.
So far so good, she treats me like a king so I genuely can't complain.

I agree with the 2year threshold being somewhat of a good test, but yeah... unless you have a reaally good reason to do it, id wait even longer than that.
