How do I tell my boss I'm ready, willing, and able to work more hours?
Simply put, something happened at work, somehow cutting many of our hours to say, 32 or even worse, 28.
However, my coworker's going to be gone for a month for a vacation in the Carribean, and I'm absolutely ready and willing to take his entire schedule to myself for that long. I think this is a perfect window of opportunity for me to get back my lost work-time.
I'm absolutely willing to prove I can handle as many days without a break as possible while working as hard as I can.

If you're in the states, I wouldn't expect anything you say to matter. They gotta pay for Obamacare once you go above 32 hours. Still, you can just straight-up tell him that you want more hours. Worst thing he can say is "no."

That's still going on?
Shit. But if that works, I'll do that. I was expecting a way to cordially convince and prod him rather than just giving a straight-up answer.
However, what happened was that a retard was seen jacking off in front of a higher-up while he was supposed to be working and basically, we're all paying for it. It's not really about insurance so much as it's about forcing us to work as hard as possible until this blows over.

I wouldn't, presuming you're at all friendly with the boss. Just be like, "Hey. I want to work more. Any way that can happen? So-and-so is taking vacation, can I cover some of his hours?"

He and I are generally very cool on each other. I wouldn't call him a total buddy because business, but he's very cool on everything.
Anyway, thanks. I sincerely hope I can win in this.

Haha you're booking a 1 way ticket to being fraggled.
