I mean she's 21, (and I'm 26) I figure there's still time to shake off some of that hate she's cultivated for whatever reason. She's a good woman otherwise who is work driven enough to follow me across the US while I work on my PhD.

The issue is that she plays these games or engages this media to share something with me, gets offended, then makes blanket accusations about its producers and consumers. This forces me to chose between things like watching One Punch Man in secret or hearing her put it in the same category as Kiss x Sis as she curses everyone who ever watched it.

Can anyone offer any advice that doesn't recommend removing anime from my life? I've got several worldbuilding projects that draw lots of inspiration from sources like the Tales series, other tropey things. Creatively, anime is just a part of my expression. And reasonably it should be hers too, since she grew up with it.

Believe it or not, I managed to watch all of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Fate/Zero, and Fate/stay night - Unlimited Blade Works. I was extremely worried about the last one, but the interest sparked by Fate/Zero was enough to carry her through the more fan service laden UBW. In the absence of any good recommendations we started watching Avatar: the Last Airbender because it has a lot of what I like. Worldbuilding, interesting use of tropes, etc. The thing is, as we get deeper into that that there will be more in-your-face fanservice.

I'll definitely try to swing through Gundam, Big-O and Mushi-shi though. I've actually seen a lot of Gundam, as well as both of the other two. I'm more worried about things like Hayate the Combat Butler, or other weebier things where gag tits might just pop in for cheap laughs.
