How do you manage in between visits with the brain doc? My next visit isn't until Thursday. Meanwhile I'm a simpering mess.

going outside and talking to my self, or tlaing to my self in the shower. saying things out loud is about 50% of what therapy does for you. typing it doesn't help nearly as much but it at least organizes your thoughts.

Just get yourself together, jfc.

If that were the case, why go to a therapist at all?

Probably to indulge childish need of being coddled and attention seeking instead of learning how to deal with problems on one's own.

People can't go through life being talked to like shit or emotionally neglected for years and years and come out okay, they at least need to talk to one person who will try to understand what they're feeling and get them back to the point where they can function. It doesn't solve anyone's problems, it just gets them to a point where they aren't so depressed all they can think about is trying to relieve it the pain.

To be honest, go distract yourself.
It sounds unhealthy, but the reality is, when brains are back like yours or mine, they have a tendency to dive straight for being sad and silent.

It's just like how people who don't challenge themselves end up sitting in their comfort zone, sticking with a crappy job or whatever for 20 years. If you don't try, you will fall into habits. Unfortunately for us (but only for the time being, until your brain gets new, happier habits), habits are 'being depressed'.

Go do something cool, exercise, learn a neat skill, play an awesome video game, help someone out. Do things that feel like change, and you will change.

When all else fails, breathe. Go outside, sit, and breathe. Look around you. Realise how crazy beautiful life is - yes, it hurts sometimes, but damn it feels awesome sometimes, too.
Relax, let it out, smile, and keep trying.

You've got this, anon. You're gonna be independent of the doc before you know it.

Have a good week, and take it easy.
