We are people spewing this meme? There aren't fucking 7billion and increasing direct connections connecting every human to every other human. No one is entitled to other people and no one owes every single person they come across anything. It's a WEB. You have people you're either directly connected with, indirectly connected with, aquianted with, complete strangers to, etc. What happens in one persons side of the web doesn't always, or even ever, affect another side of the web. Why do people spew this meme about how everyone is in on this together when it's fucking nonsense?
What's it like living as a cynical 15 year old?
we have a shared common ancestor you brainlet, it's basic biology

I'm not talking about genetics. I'm talking about this vague, idealistic notion that every human is dependent on every other human equally and you're thus subject to a certain set of obligations and rewards (which I personally don't care for).
>>18360185
>every human is dependent on every other human equally
This is not what interdependence means.
>and you're thus subject to a certain set of obligations and rewards (which I personally don't care for).
This is closer. We live in a closed system, ecologically, economically, and physically.
TL;DR - You're mad af over a meme you literally don't understand.
I've never heard this so it's not a meme imho

>This is not what interdependence means.
You misquoted me. I never said we aren't interdependent. I literally said there's direct and indirect connections etc, in my op. What I said was we are not EQUAL dependependent and the extent to which we are all interdependent on each other is vastly overexaggerated. My dependence on Lin Shin Xiang in random Chinese city, and Pajeet Rammahad in kolkatta, and Jose Estavez in Santiago, and random straya cunt is so abysmally small its essentially non existent. Yet people are expected to act like every single person the meet is important to the point where you're not even allowed to 'opt out'.
>>18360339
Yeah it was a stretch calling it that but this attitude/thought process does exist.
>>18360379
But I didn't misquote you. The idea that we are EQUALLY interdependent is not implied by the theory of interdependence. You're choosing to be mad over your incorrect interpretation of a meme, instead of actually understanding it.
And if your counter to this is that some rando on Facebook or Reddit said that's what the theory means, what you're really pissed over is that some stranger you'll never meet on the internet was stupid. In which case, yawn. Still has nothing to do with the idea itself.

This.
Nearly all arguments stem from ignorance of definitions

>theory of interdependence

Is this what you're talking about? Because I'm not. You focused on one word 'interdependence' and chose to interpret it how you wanted to.

I didn't mean a literally meme as in a facebook post or internet meme. I'm talking this vague, somewhat unspoken notion all of the general population seems to carry where you're not really allowed to opt out of social situations or trying to force to make contributions when you aren't obligated to.
Also, not saying honoring the victims is a bad thing. That's just the most readily available example of someone saying this with a dickton of people agreeing.
>>18360161
>some people in the world believe stupid shit
'oh no'
>gets mad
Stop trying to control everything.
Well, I've read this a lot time too that people aee connected. And honestly, it's a comfortable thought, when I'm sitting alone in my apartment, without friends or family. It makes me less sad. i guess it's good for emotional regulation. That's also why I'm happy when someone on here is nice and says "thanks" and just behaves nicely. It makes the stuff I have to go through bearable.
So leave me at least my illusion of not being alone, OP, please.
In a society, everything that everyone does affects the environment, and everyone else in that society. When you litter, put a shopping cart back, brake for a squirrel, or BBQ some ribs, change lanes without signaling, you are leaving a mark and setting off reactions in the world around you.
Opting out is easy. Move to a remote location, absent of electricity, running water, paved roads, etc, and live your life as a hermit. Then you can, as closely as is possible, cease to be connected to your fellow man.

I never said there's no reactions or influence. It's just the ripple effect is vastly over exaggerated by a lot of people in my view.

Im not trying to take your comfort away I just want to know why people feel this way. Thanks for answering.
