How do I stop procrastinating ?
I always start doing something important and then I find myself wasting time on useless stuff.

Id love to write a longer reply but ironically Id just be procrastinating then aswell.
Look up "howcto stop procrastinating" on your search engine.
Other than that, what has helped me is daily meditation (morning and evening, and/or whenever ai feel like i need it). It makes you more conscious in general and more aware of how you function when you feel like procrastinating, which makes it easier to manage.
Peace

Dopamine addiction.

Your dopaimne sensors are dulled because probably too much porn/vidya/internets to the level when nothing "normal" seems absorbing enough.

Go cold turkey, you will feel like retiring drug addict but you will see the change.

Install some blocking software, or simply turn off your pc.

Shit, I have to do the same right now. Bye.

The cure to procrastination is simple .

Just realize you don't have to do anything . Literally . You don't have to write that paper . Go to work . Call your mom. You don't have to do any of those things . None of those things will lead to your immediate death .

Procrastination is subconscious attack by our mind . It's like a slave who makes the master the slave by being Innefficient or disobedient . The slave is lazy and doesn't work because the slave doesn't WANT to work . If you want to "cure" your procrastination in anything , you are going to have to fundamentally WANT to do whatever you are doing . Then you will never feel bored with it and not do it .

I'm not saying it's easy , but it's simple .

isn't the need to always be doing something manmade?
people feel bad when they do nothing because they think they should be doing something - that's how it looks to me at least

they forgot to just chill and do nothing

another side effect of procrastination that may be present in people like me is when you see it from an activity perspective - or a hobby

if you don't do it you'll never get far, be it making music, painting, whatever.

in my case i have the burning desire to make music someday but i'm not always motivated to do it.
but when i think about how fast a life can come to an end i feel shitty because then i'm wasting my time everytime i'm not doing it. i'd love to make people happy with music and leave something after i'm gone.

does that make sense?

the best tool i use to fight procrastination is to tell myself that ill spend "just 15 minutes" doing the work, then ill take a break and go back to slacking off.

best case: i end up spending more than 15 minutes working
worst case: i got at least 15 minutes of work done, meaning the overall job is smaller now

repeat as needed

same
might also be burnout of some weird kind, I have no clue

I just wrote emails to different departments at my Uni that I need to talk with someone
I need to take time off, I just can't get myself up to anything at the moment and I can't possibly catch up on everything I have missed so far
>>
I don't even have enough motivation to do the things I like.
