Ok it might seem absolutely trivial but recently my father is building two triplex which he worked hard for. I helped him a lot and I felt proud so I posted a status on facebook with pictures of it, showing the progress.
However, father said I shouldn't have because it makes people jealous of you and you look like an asshole bragging and showing off. Keep in my I only post once every few months and I am concerned that people will start to envy me and that I may look like "the rich kid is showing off"
What are your thoughts?

Do it if it helps your status.
I would say it depends on the type of person who sees these Facebook posts. personally I would be interested to see how its coming together and not be jealous. considering the infrequency of the posts I would think its not enough to cause people to think your showing off. I geuess it depends on what you say with the posts could you give an example?

I just wrote: "Construction is going well!"

You should be fine your not rubbing it in and it seems more like your just giving friends and update how building is going.
Your father is teaching you the value of humility. I think you should take the lesson because it's a good one, and I think the world would be a better place if more people practiced it. Honestly your father seems like a really cool guy worth looking up to.

You should brag if it makes you feel good. It will probably only increase your social standing and reputation. That's how bragging works generally.

It's about how you brag.
I generally try to not post anything. Some people make statuses about every "A" they ever get on an assignment, and I didn't even post anything when I got in to the honor's college at an Ivy League university.
your post should read something like this: "I am so proud of my amazing dad for all the work he's done recently on ______! I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to help him build it, and I feel so fulfilled watching it grow!"
The WRONG type of thing to say would be
"No to brag- but look how cool this is!! I worked so hard on it and it looks amazing!"
Basically- frame it as though you are expressing gratitude for being given this amazing opportunity.

I'm generally humble but sometimes, I like to share what I do/accomplished but I am afraid to pass as an asshole
