there's this spot in my back that's been bothering me for weeks, i can't crack it :(
what should i do to help or crack it?
Hot bath and massage the area to loosen the muscles. Then try to crack it. If it's your lower back, try sitting on a sturdy chair with a back, then twist and use the back of your chair to make the twist go father. if it's up in your ribs, put your hands on either side of your back as close as you can to the place, and push forward while leaning back. If you can't reach, ask someone to bear huge you in the correct place or try stepping on your spine.

This is fucking horrific advise. You might get a crack OP. But it's not one that you gonna want to have.

It depends on how hard you do it. I do it all the time and it's the most reliable way. You don't want to force it until it hurts, you just want to bend it a little further than it would usually go, like a stretch. Don't go until it hurts, and if it doesn't crack easily, stop.
Loosening up first means you don't have tense muscles restricting the movement and preventing cracking. This prevents overstressing the joint.

Gain weight until you're about 400 lbs. and your own weight will be sure to crack that baby open.

Cracking is a placebo. It's just the air going through the joint.
Get a massage. Also figure out how you messed up your back.

>massage
yeah im gonna go for this, youre right
Your back is out of alignment probably from an imbalance in muscle strengths.
Basically you need to build your core strength by doing targeted exercises. You will likely get worse before you get better but after a couple weeks of doing this 6 times a week you will feel awesome.
> Bridges 3 sets of ten
> Side plank on each side hold until you feel unstable.
> Clamshells 3 sets of 10
> Airplaning and Darting 3 sets of 10

this is definitely a factor, i've realized. when i did a lot of bodyweight exercises i felt great, but i haven't really worked out in months except for some running. for a couple weeks i've been doing pushups just to do something
i'll work on my posture, exercises/stretching(not cracking, going to cut that out), and get a massage in a couple weeks.
