Marry one who earns more than you. Mine earns almost 2x what I do. We keep seperate bank accounts. The house and my car are in my name and there's a record that I've made all the payments on it from my salary. In the event of a divorce, I come out financially ahead. No kids to muddy the waters.

Not that I would, I love my wife. But it's reassuring.
