Let me explain this differently.
By living abroad I am not only experiencing things I would have never be able to experience here, I'd learn a LOT about myself, about responsibility and probably figure out a couple of more things with the whole situation going. plus living aborad while being young seems insanely fun.
Especially for me, a dude living in a small country in a small village that never experienced what's it like to live in a city as big as Nagoya or Tokyo.

if you don't have preference you should go for the medical license and consider taking a year studying abroad or spend summers in japan
not sure if you could work in japan with an american medical license. might want to look that up. i'd assume not but these things are weird sometimes

Go to college first. Give yourself a few more years to develop and to pic out your life goals. You may decide you want to do completely different shit. If not, college gives you opportunity to live abroad. Plus you can get your BA and continue in the medical field or do something else if you want.

The medical field is a joke. Big pharma is partly to blame with it becoming more "consumer driven" people have blended "wants and needs" which have all the doctors bending over backwards. People will wear you out. There are too many assholes with power complexes. And I'm not talking about doctors. I'm talking about patients. If you want to know what it's like to be a doctor then read Samuel Shem's House of God. If you truly have no clue what your doing. There isn't any other book I can think of that captures the reality of being a doctor. It will erode your soul, and if you're anything less than perfect people will hold you accountable.

Doctors are in demand yes, but the ever growing rules and policies and "safety" protocols add to the cancer of red tape. You wouldn't believe how easy it is for people who have no business being in medical get a job in medical. A lot of paperwork is due to people "just needing a job" so certain processes are put in place so that Carl Dingus can feed his family. Meanwhile adding to headache for both Doctor and patient.

??? I am not gonna stay 20 for the rest of my life are you dumb? Once you get old you have some responsibilities to hold and a whole lot of shit going on so you probably won't be able to study, on the opposite side, living aboard while you're in your 20s is something I'll never get to experience if I'm going to study at uni.

I think I'll make a new thread just to make it more clear, I know my English is a bit lacking, not my mother tongue, so sorry if you guys fail to understand some stuff, thanks for commenting.

Apply to med school. When accepted, ask to defer admission. Take a year and teach English in Japan.
