That amount of discharge could be from a yeast infection or Bacterial Vaginosis (which could be caused by using certain soaps, douching, tampons, etc).

There's two types of discharge that happen during the non-menstrual part of the cycle. Right at ovulation, discharge becomes thick and clear, like uncooked egg white. It stays like that for a few days. Every other point has discharge that is isn't as thick or sticky, but whiter and much more opaque. The not-egg-white kind can leave spots on the underwear like that. If she didn't have a lot of opportunities to go to the bathroom (since wiping cleans it up), then that can easily happen.

That much isn't exactly common, but it happens every so often and it's normal.

It's also not an indicator of a yeast infection. Yeast infections don't cause more discharge, they cause a change in existing discharge. If anything the area feels dry and mosquito-bite itchy, leading to papercut-like skin cracking if left alone for too long. It also tends to create a "bready" sort of smell. If you're not getting any of these, then it's not a yeast infection.
