I make $40k a year, with a new job I could possibly make $50k a year, at the lowest $45k a year. I have $15k in savings.
I work in Hartford, the cost of living is pretty expensive in Connecticut. I want my own place, and no roommates. Is this possible?

Isn't the rule supposed to be like housing can't be more than 28% of your take home pay?

thats in an ideal world. for most people its more.
my rent in LA is 50% of my paycheck for other people it can be closer to 75%.
honestly only OP would actually know how much theyd need to live on their own.
hes the one that has to sit down, count how much money he spends on his car, food, etc. per month and see whats left over for rent.
