If you're a straight dude, you might get one message a year if you're attractive. Most dudes will get exactly zero. You need to initiate. Just make it something you need to do, and accept that most of them won't get replies - say you need to send one message a day before you can eat breakfast, or some shit. One a week coming back with a decent reply is perfectly acceptable here.

You're doing it all wrong. You don't make one profile, you make a fuck ton of profiles. Like 30 or 40 on the same site. You don't want them to all look like you. Just oddly similar. More of your "type" means their is just more than one kind of quesadilla. And that is what makes a menu. Have all their first names be different and when you meet someone be like "oh, everyone calls me _____." Or, "My name is actually _____. I don't want people from my town to see me on the web because it sucks." Hell even, "My name is a "lie" but you can call me "some romantic shit."
