My brother has a Chemical engineering major and most of his projects were group works, both in college and in the industry.

as someone who is all too familiar with people holding you back in school projects, I feel for ya. They are done in an attempt to encourage cooperative work ethic, but it just doesn't fucking work, it doesn't hold the same level of consequence. All you can do is try your best and hope the students who bother to do Uni are any better and report them if they are jeopardizing your grade.
