Not OP, but when I tried this, all I did was buy and drink an overpriced latte and browse stores at the strip mall.

Try an aptitude test even if you're not a NEET or unhappy in your job. Look at the results and try either trainng or hobbies, depending on job status, based on what interests you out of those.

Also try meetup.com, joining a club, or volunteering in order to meet people and hang out irl.

Forgot to mention that part of the issue is I'm somewhat starting to fall behind in uni because of it, so learning to focus on studying is also part of the problem.

Got the same problem, i cant stop browsing the internet. Best way to deal with it is getting some shit old nokia phone and sticking too it for some weeks. Also go to university if you want to learn, use their internet access.

The first days were pretty hard, almost every minute I caught myself thinking about checking the phone and just doing something else.

There is one simple way how to do it.
It's really simple, but not easy, and it takes balls - atelast small ones.

Just get rid of your computer and smartphone. Get a dumbphone if you need. Get your mail done at school/uni/internetcafé.
You have to put your devices somewhere, wher you phisically can't possibly access them.

In the meantime start doing something else, lifting, playing guitar and listening to old CD's did it for me. And I never played Guitarr or been inside a gym ever before. Just start doing something you genuinly enjoy.

You get comfortable with being internet-less quite fast. Just make sure you don't start using internet to soon.

I realized i can't use internet moderately and I have to quit for good. Just occasional shitposting when bored at work suits me.
