Hey i need some advice.
I want to start collecting stuff.
But it has to be something people don't just go out and buy, and it has to be pretty aswell.
my ideas so far are:
Whiskey ( i don't drink though )
Gold/silver ( fucking pricey)
Gems such as diamonds
But i want to hear other ideas as they might be better than mine.
My boss collects bizarre pinecones. She travels a lot and has some from trees in Australia and other places. It's always a cool talking point to people when we meet at her house. So maybe something like fossils or cool rocks or lame shit like that? Idk anon, I don't collect stuff but it works out well for her. Just make it something you can talk about.
I collect bottlecaps. I have 742 right now from different countries. I travel a lot, so I just ask in the restaurants if they have any I can have, or go look in stores if there is anything new.
Hand-made wood carving.
pretty
relatively cheap
relatively rare/exotic
lasts a lifetime
easy to maintain
worth passing on to descendants/other wood enthusaists
every work may have a story worth telling so infinite conversation topics
Or maybe hand-made glass. Or anything really. World is full of crafty people.
Neither clothes nor soap though. They are mainstream and monetised.
Know a lady who collects candlesticks. For a long time. Arount 500 now. Even had a corner in some art/history exposition a few years ago.
