I got a toe infection weeks ago, the nail detached from the cuticle. Now it's better and no longer in pain but it looks like this. Its been 3 weeks - will the nail ever reattach? What do?
I once dropped a book on my big toe nail right at the cuticle. Gradually over a week the underside of the nail bruised deep blue/black and eventually the nail itslef fell off and i had only a healing yellow bruised toe.
It took a very long time to fully grow back in, half a year i think.
For me the nail isn't detaching. More than 3 weeks and the nail still hasn't detached but it's separated from the cuticle. >>17977854
I live in China and I don't trust the doctors not to a) Jew me for cash and b) know what the hell they are talking about. Most people here don't even know chickens are birds!
Might heal faster then, just treat the infection with fungal cream or OTC foot antibiotics. Be weary if it becomes hot to the touch and painful (serious deep tissue infection at that point, and will require medical help)
My brother slammed his toe in a door when he was a sophomore in high school and he's a senior in college now and it's still fucked.
If it's not painful and it doesn't get caught in your socks, just leave it alone. It's really only a cosmetic blemish
Yeah thanks. I'll slather it in sudocrem antiseptic healing ointment and iodine and hope it does the trick. There has been no further infection since I sorted out the original with antibiotics and cutting to release the pus (i waited until hurt like a bastard because I didn't know it wad bad, had trouble walking)
