Dude, I work at a rehab. There are people with waaaaaay more regrets than you'll ever have. There's a chick that still birthed her baby because of heroin. There's a dide who told me he got so mad and depressed when he was drunk that he put a cigarette out in his dead wifes urn. The chicks have all had drug dealer "boyfriends". Most of them have stolen from their families multiple times. Many of them have gone to prison.

Watch Youth (2015). Watch it a few times. It will be boring the first time. But for some reason it just keeps growing on you and you keep coming back to it.

Life is all about looking forward, not back.

This. See a therapist, or at least a counselor. If you belong to a faith that practices confession, clergy can also work. You've said that you break down when you talk about it, but these are people who have experience with that sort of thing. They can help you through that.

This too. Even small stuff. Hell, especially small stuff; you'd be shocked at just how much the tiniest acts can brighten a person's day, and that rubs off on you. No need to get grandiose.

Bro, i did some serious shit too. I almost forced a girl into making a porn video of herself because i blackmailed her with nudes i stole frpm her exboyfriend. I regret every singlr bit and know that i wasn't a sane person when I did this. Nonetheless i still feel totally ashamed about all this and feel afraid to run into somebody on the street who might know what i have done. I kept my secret for over a year, but the pressure was so hard for me that I went to the police by myself. And actually talking about it made me feel better. Go see a doctor or a therapist, there has to be somebody who keeps his mouth shut and isnt connected to your private life. Do yourself a favor and get it off your chest, it helps!

You have to figure out the crucial important observations and beliefs making up this feeling of shame you have.

And what you have to do is come up with a logical argument that completely invalidates any reason you have to feel ashamed for yourself until you believe it. And then you'll move on.
