Is it ok to use alcohol as training wheels for confidence?
long story short I grew up acting like a fedora supreme gentleman on reddit but I grew out of that, got /fit/ and started to read books
the few times that I have had 3-4 drinks I loosened up and was actually able to enjoy parties, conversations and just let loose
Problem is I would really prefer that I stay sober as my uncles fucked their shit up with alcoholism
is the answer as simple as drink responsibly?
Kava is an herb that is sold in powder/capsule form. It holds similar effects to alcohol without a hangover or nausea. I do notice the loss of inhibitions when I take it.
It makes you go numb, but that can be fun. Very relaxing.
Alcohol's purpose is to lower inhibitions and shit, op. It's only really an issue if it becomes alcoholism or starts effecting you negatively.

IMO learning to be social while drunk will not aid your ability to socialize when sober. The age old adage of "practice as you play" comes to mind. I am personally incredibly social when drunk, but it doesn't make me any more social when I'm sober. Nor does that experience relieve the anxiety that being sober in front of a huge crowd gives me.

That's the exact way I ended up an alcoholic mate.

Same here. It will make you social for a year or two then it will destroy you.
