Is this bait? Med students are all dense normies, always whining about how hard they need to study, when all they do is read some books. I looked up to them when I was far away from that world too, but hated them as soon as I started actually taking to them.

Leaving medicines for STEM was one of the better decisions of my life. Becoming a doctor felt like becoming too much of a one trick pony too.

Nah I switched to double majorign in biology and physics now, medicines was simply too boring and easy.

Med students are cocky, but besides that, they're pretty damn normy. I have found them not to be any smarter than, for example, history or law students.

Only a small subset of medicines students end up in actual research, after which they have to learn essential research skills that molecular biol. students learned before.

These do the research, all the others profit from it. Which is perfectly fine and it's a system that works. But all this praise for medicines is unjustified.

Medicine students are simply no scientists. They make use of science. That's something completely different

Even if this anon is mad as fuck about some prior run in with some faggot premed, but some of what he says has some truth. Research isn't a major part of many doctors' careers and a lot of what you use is someone else's data.

That being said, this anon clearly values the research itself over the application of said research, but it's up to you to decide which side you prefer. Not everyone feels the same way.

No reason to feel inferior, they are human and make mistakes too. They were not born perfect. You have to ask questions, learn to accept failure, and have some fun.

Haven't seen many MSI or II's that can do that (in a healthy way.)

i work closely with many MDs, PhDs, and MDPhDs and while, on average, most MDs are completely useless when it comes to actual research, there are exceptions. you can get an MD and also work hard enough to learn the skills to actually participate in research. anyone who is capable of taking the sheer amount of time and focus medical school takes is also capable of learning STEM, it just happens that most do not since being a doctor is often enough to live an upper class life.

Medicine is a part of STEM you are quite literally studying science to be applied to human beings

I work with general practitioners on a weekly basis, both older doctors and ones that are straight out of school.

Might be different with specialists and surgeons and shit, but the GPs are basically just glorified human Wikipedias, looking up symptoms in their little online guides (or books if they're oldfags).

They're all dense, helpless normies and struggle with shit like plugging a keyboard into a computer or using a smartphone. Fuck, I'd rather use Googke than take medical advice from those people.

My degree is in neuro and I was surrounded by pre-meds in most of my classes. They were mostly dull or evil, which is in accord with my experience with doctors. I was relieved when I had humanities and psych classes. And they were very, very stressed.
