So my girlfriend and I are getting fat and we want to lose weight.

How can we devise a workout plan we can devote ourselves to without it being too strict or too dependent on us? Our motivation sucks.

My married friend started doing callisthenics in the morning before work.
That'd help

But the biggest thing for weight is controlling food
Don't buy junk food
Eat the least amount of empty calories as possible (i.e. carbs like breads, pasta and rice)

No sweets. No snacks.

do T25. it's 25 minutes a day (if you don't count the 3 min stretch). It's hard to excuse yourself from missing a 25 minute workout. It's 5 days a week at 25 a sesh so not too bad. Just get some good shoes/insoles because there is a lot of jumping.

It's mostly food. Count calories.

I am eating 1200 kcal a day, boyfriend is eating 1500. We swim 45 minutes every morning because we both hate the gym.
We diet strict monday-friday, and during the weekend we keep dieting but allow ourselves to eat more random food and go out for a beer.

start very small so you can get some successes get used to budgeting time for exercising and get addicted to the good feels

set a goal like ok for next month we are going to walk for 15 minutes 3 times a week

that's very easy and you will get used to it

then just start adding more & more

pick a reasonable goal like 30 mins exercise 4-5 times a week

then do something similar for diet - all that exercise is worthless if you keep pigging out
