Hey /adv/

I'm a 24f, who is depressed as fuck. I've been on the full dose of wellbutrin (450mg) since summer and I just got 10mg of lexapro added to my pill regime.
That being said, I became extremely hypersexual on wellbutrin and its only gotten worse since I started lexapro. I fell asleep masturbating, woke up masturbating, am subtly trying to get guys to ask me to hook up, hooking up as often as I am, craving cock and pleasure, camming more often, etc.
Should I embrace my hypersexuality or is it should I tell my psychiatrist?

>Tldr; I'm hypersexual from depression meds. Should I take advantage of it or get help for it?
>>
>>17903595
>should I tell my psychiatrist?

yes, you should do this regardless. please make sure you're careful. you dont want to catch any sti's or get pregnant. are you on the pill?
>>
>>17903603
He put me on wellbutrin to enhance my sexuality since zoloft made me reaaaaally dry and turned off. The only thing I've mentioned is when he would ask "is your sex drive better?" and its an obvious "yes". Not sure how I'd bring it up to him anyhow. Yeah I'm on the pill
>>
>>17903612
Damn, what a cocktail of drugs. I feels for you bruh
>>
>>17903626
Sad and horny. Living the the liiiife
>>
I think it would be best if you find a single guy you trust and do it.
>>
>>17903612
maybe you should say something like "its working but its working a little bit too much". im honestly not sure. sounds like an awkward situation. suppose he deals with this kind of thing all the time so its not going to be awkward to him.

if you wanna bring it up, you could say such and such tablets are having an over whelming effect.
>>
>>17903637
One guy isn't satisfying enough
>>
>>17903645

Right

>>17903665
Follow up is in 2 months. Is that too long?
>>
>>17903667
I'm not sure. i'm not a doctor.
I'd recommend for the time being try not to do something you might regret in a long run, since it could worse your depression.

I know humans make stupid decisions when they're drugged or horny, (i speak with experience) but at least try.
>>
Damn. I'm sorry. Guy here, on treatment for opiate addiction.

Haven't gotten high in 3 years, feels great, but I'm tired, apathetic, and yet so horny.

Had to leave my ex, was a very toxic relationship. I thought we could help each other but as I got better and started helping her, she just started to get more and more codependent and suck me back down.

Stuck with her through a lot of pain because I love her

Be careful, you deserve someone to fuck you silly and care for you. I'm starting to fantasize about it, but regardless... Don't take advantage.. keep working with your doctor to find a middle ground, normal sex drive, but not sad

It can take some time but find support from others, platonically if possible. Whatever you do don't go into a relationship thinking they can fix you or vice versa... It'll end badly

Best of luck truly..

Antidepressants by design treat the symptoms and not the cause

They can only ever make you worse or at best postpone/marginalise the symptoms of depression

Why don't you simply treat your depression instead? We've known the cause of, and cure to depression for a long time now:

>Regular exercise
>Regular sunshine
>Regular social interaction with peers
>Good sleep
>Good diet

Incidentally, and since it's related to what you've described, I treated myself out of a 12 year+ depression by simply fixing my diet and joining a gym and I now realise my sex drive and energy levels were all severely lacking and I just didn't realise it. I now want to fuck almost every day because I'm producing testosterone and other sex hormones at a healthy range again.

Find out which of the above areas you're lacking in and treat yourself. Reduce/remove medications as soon as realistic and feasible.

Also this american perception of medical problems being the doctors issue or leaving treatment to the doctor is a horrible meme and needs to stop

The only person responsible for your medication and treatment is you. Doctors are merely there to offer advice based on their experience and education
>>
>>17903719
I excercise, get enough sun, get enough sleep, but I'm really introverted so that may be part of the problem. I don't have any energy or interest in doing anything besides sexual related things. Seriously.
In fact, most of the people I talk to are "fans" of my camgirl material. I'm socially awkward.
>>
>>17903725
So you think I should run with it and not tell the Dr about the overly sexual and horny behaviors? I'm insatiable
>>
>>17903758
>I talk to are "fans" of my camgirl material.

send me the link. you sound like a naughty girl. i wanna give you a watch ;)
>>
>>17903762
I think you should stop depending on your doctor to make choices for you. If I were you I'd treat my depression like I did.

Whether you want to keep taking as much wellbutrin is entirely up to you. Again, a Doctors role is to offer advice and help with medication and treatment and without you telling him what you're dealing with and what you want out of treatment he's just guessing- which is why you're currently overly sexual and horny.
>>
>>17903595
Where can I find you?
>>
I've taken wellbutrin before and I increased my sexual desires as well even though I was on a small dose. Start cutting down your doses. Your hypersexuality will just lead you to degrading yourself or getting pregnant sooner or later. Are the drugs even working for your depression? As others have already said, the typical antidepressant drugs out there don't really solve most people's depression problems.
>>
>>17903725
Stupid analogy, stupid meme placement, stupid line of thoughts that lead to utter ignorance and further cements aberrative treatments that only worsen the patient's condition.

delet this.

Canada?
>>
>Guys I'm young and horny, what do I do?

Fuck while guys still want to fuck you, Jesus. It's not that hard to get laid as a young woman. If you're nervous, have a couple of drinks, and literally just walk into a bar and start hitting on dudes. 95% of women at bars are stuck up cunts who want nothing to do with the single men there. Be the 5% and get plowed.
>>
>>17903595
>Should I embrace my hypersexuality or is it should I tell my psychiatrist?
I think you should probably do the latter regardless of what you do about the former.
>>
Also on Lexapro...can definitely confirm hypersexuality
>>
>>17903595
this happens to me on wellbutrin too.
The problem is that im actually hypersexual when I'm not depressed and wellbutrin takes away my depression, so it puts me back to my 'normal' state.

Being hypersexual can be destructive because sex and orgasms can be abused like drugs can. Sex addiction can cause rifts in your relationships and withdraws from not having sex/not orgasming. Have you tried a slightly less extreme dose of Wellbutrin? I take 300mg and I am still hypersexual but not to the point of destroying my life with sex addiction.

Also one thing to think about: why are we called hypersexual as female compared to men who are like this normally?
If you feel like your sexuality isn't hurting your lifestyle and relationships maybe you shouldn't make an effort to change it. Don't let gender based stigma make you feel shame.
>>
>>17903974
Should I email or call like it's an emergency or wait the 2 months for the new appointment?
>>
>>17904675
>why are we called hypersexual as female compared to men who are like this normally?

you aren't. chicks are horny as men and think about sex as much as men, regardless of what you're told to think. however, OP craving cock this much and literally falling asleep and waking up with her finger in her gash and camming constantly, do you think men do this?
>>
>>17903645
what the fuck? did they give you female Viagra?
