Don't shave if you've never done it before. It'll be prickly and itchy and likely painful. It's also unnecessary.

Most girls won't care, but do make sure it's clean. it's also usually helpful if the pubic hair is trimmed. You don't have to cut it all off or anything, but just containing the bush a little bit makes sex (particularly oral) nicer. It doesn't have to be super short. I say keeping it an inch or less should be fine.

No need to trim your happy trail or balls unless they're particularly long, but it might look nicer if you trim it all evenly. It takes longer and you can end up straining your neck if you do it for too long.

My personal suggestion from years of trimming: Use small, sharp scissors, preferably new. Shower beforehand and clean up, then tower the area dry. You can use a comb to pull the hair up and out to trim it more evenly.

When trimming, close the toilet lid and sit on the edge. Keep a small bathroom trash can underneath, between your legs. Hair that gets on the toilet lid can be wiped into the trash can once you're done.

If you don't live alone and want to be subtle, put some tissues or something on top of the hair to hide it better.
