It really depends on personal preference. I myself like both. Pads more when I feel like being lazy, mostly at the beginning.

Tampons 100%. I cannot stand being able to feel everything gushing out every time I stand. Ew. But it doesn't matter because I avoid going out at all costs when I'm on my period. I just stay at home and eat fatty foods under a blanket, hissing whenever my roommates speak to me.
