Welp, I feel ya. Not a racist myself, but I do like my family just the way it is, so I guess I can understand. It would be difficult trying to get someone who doesn't understand our idiosyncracies to fit in. And especially someone from a race who's idiosyncracies we generally dislike or don't identify with.

Chinese people for exp, are generally very nice, very cultured, but they'd feel awkward as hell in my house, that's for sure. Blacks, unless they're old, or the girl from the DriveTime commercials, probably wouldn't make sense in my house on a thanksgiving. And even then... why the fuck would black ppl wanna be anywhere else but with their black families on thanksgiving? Rly mks u think..

Some things will always feel awkward no matter how many times we pretend to tell ourselves it isn't strange. Maybe after some time it could go away, but there's nothing like the peace of mind you get knowing you can actually fart around your family.

And you can't honestly expect someone to make an instant transition either.

Bigger than the problem of racism in America, I feel has become the hatred for it or the fear of it, as if it's something that shouldn't exist.

Racism is as normal, globally speaking, as water or salt. I don't know one country that can say it does not have either racism, or latent feeling of contempt for certain races.

And it's not all without some bad experience associated with that race, or multiple bad experiences. Comes a point when people, after getting bit so many times by a dog, they stop liking dogs. Meanwhile, the rest of us wonder just wtf is so bad about dogs?

Not everyone grows up with positive experiences associated to certain races, in the same way. This can change over time, but for that to be the case, they would have to have good experiences associated with blacks. And sometimes, even after having those experiences, they still prefer the company of their own to blacks. And it's normal for blacks to prefer the company of their own too, blood is blood.
