The /fit/ sticky is amazing, if you can actually follow it. Even if you don't lift, you can work on paying attention to your calories. There are online calorie counters that tell you how much you need based on your height, current weight, age, etc. Some have a built in deficit, but most will tell you how much you need to maintain. Try to subtract 200-500 calories from your maintain amount, but don't go under 1,200 if you're a guy.

OK, here's my advice. You didn't get fat overnight. It wasn't one meal or one beer or soda that made you fat. It's your lifestyle. You know this already. What you don't know is how fast you will lose that weight. It takes years to put that weight on but months to take it off. Seriously, you won't believe how fast your body changes. It's as if it actually wants to lose all that shit and get itself back to normal. Your body is your ally not your enemy. Go walking, ride a bike, go to a gym do anything that gets you outside and moving.
How do I know? I lost 70 pounds in seven months. Think about it, if you start today you will be 70 pounds lighter by March 2017.
Just be yourself
