In a few weeks, I'll be moving out of my parent's house and to a college dorm in Richmond. I'm very excited for this, as I've been living in the suburbs for most of my life, but at the same time I'm a bit worried. I've heard that there was a lot of crime in Richmond, and there has been 2 shootings in the past few weeks on campus. Yet, at the same time, I want to explore the city, especially during the night. So, what I'm asking is, how can I not be targeted by criminals, and explore the city at the same time? Is being in a large city really as dangerous as I have heard?

richmonds isn't that bad, literally don't act like afraid or paranoid and walk like you live whatever block your on. and get some local friends that know what places to avoid
