Hey /adv/, recently I've been thinking frequently what I wanted to do as a career choice, something I would enjoy doing in the future or at least a kind of job that won't make me feel absolutely miserable everyday. Thing is, I have no idea what I want to do, like I don't see myself in a worthwhile job at all and it's freaking me out a little bit. I work at a Japanese restaurant as a sushi chef assistant, I thought I wanted to be a sushi chef master as my career choice but I've realized it wasn't for me. Recently I find myself dreading coming into work everyday and I want to quit really bad but I have no backup plan. Tell me /adv/, what should I do?
>tl;dr
>Don't know what career I want
>Thought I wanted to do sushi chef job but hate sushi chef job
>pls help
Go Be a laser technician.
Shit I don't know anything about you what do you expect from us.
Quit your job if you're unhappy and can afford a couple months job less.
What sorts of things do you like doing? Do you want to do tech shit? trades? Something more social?
>lists one job
>it was my dream job, but now i hate it! :'(
>doesn't tell anything about skills, past trades or other jobs

Learn a trade.
Plumber, electrician, hvac, contractor, etc.
There will always be a need for any of these.
I went to college for graphic design. Literally no market where I live.
Finished a program for certified nursing assistant.
Can't make any more than 10 an hour.
I've always wanted to be a funeral director. Recession proof.

Where I am, yeah. Early in the year, they'll tell you all about the career possibilities. Later you get, they slowly reveal the truth. Unless you are willing to work freelance, you better be really, really fucking good. Print is dying quickly, and Web design can be done for 10 bucks a month by some cut and paste website. Of my starting class of 60+, I'd say 6-7 got jobs in the field. I did as well, but screen printing is dying too.

Graphic design is a meme standalone. Marketing + Graphic Design minor is not.

Think in broad strokes.
Do you want to work with people (customers, etc) or away from them?
Do you want to work alone or on a team?
Indoors or outdoors?
White collar (office) or blue collar?
With your hands or your brain?
How important are money, location, working hours?
And so on.
These will narrow things down to a general description of what kind of working life you want. Then think of what specific jobs match the description.
Go into planitplus website and do the career path quiz.
