I turned 29 last month and am still a virgin. I only have one year left to go, but I have a lot of questions.
How will I get my robes and hat? Is there a representative or group?
How will the magic power manifest? Will I have a choice in what kind of wizard I become?
Similarly will I have a choice between casting with a staff, wand or just hand motions?
These are important questions /adv/ and I want to be prepared.
The secret is an hero. In the next dimension kara points will be count. The whole point of religion is abstaining from fun to be rewarded in the next life, and the joke of course is that anyone would have committed seppuku. In all actuality there may be a ritual idk, in all seriousness.

I don't want to an hero. Life is going pretty good.
Another question though. Where can I find a nice blank tome for my spell book?

In the afterlife moron.
In all seriousness, /x/omg/
You need to be directing your fapping towards specific achievement. Sigils and Chaos Magick holds the key.
So, how it works is that (because of the ongoing traffic of potential wizards) we wont be able to visit you straight away. We need time to prepare the ceremony, and you'll find yourself visited by a guide at noon on the dot to take you through the ethereal mist, and from there they'll cover the travel operations (journey length, safety protocol, what to expect etc.). Don't worry about bringing any clothing aside from the ones you plan on wearing on your planeswalk: you'll be provided with your novice robes when you reach your destination.\
Now, what magic school you'll specialize in is difficult to determine. There are several complex requirements for different schools including initial mana capacity, elemental compatibility, familiar choice, the list goes on. What we can do for you once you get there is offer a few "starting courses" which have been recently implemented to better your transition into wizard society. But we'll cover that once you've completed your initiation ceremony.
As for your last question: there have been debates on which is best for connecting with the aether for eons, but really they are better for achieving different means. Incanting & gesturing is everyone's starting point as it comes naturally with everyone, and almost all of the fundamentals are transferrable to higher level catalysts, though at higher levels it's better suited to physically-oriented combat. Small staves are most suited to medicinal and alternate magic (simple summoning, body modification, telepathy and many others), non combat focused with more everyday use. We think it's better to make sure that wizards-in-training are better off not harming themselves or others before tackling on combat magicks, which take some very strong focus and thus are hard to master to those with little experience managing their mana. Large staves however aren't provided with our starter courses. Their main use is for world-ending spells and higher level combat.

Now this is useful information. What milestones after 30 should I be moving towards?
Conjuration would be my preferred field of study. Divination would be helpful at my job as well.

To add on, since we consider ourselves a peaceful society, the only times combat spells will be permitted is through tournaments, demonstrations and at an extreme, war.
Everything you need will be provided as we help you transition, but don't worry about tomes. Blank tomes are really for very experienced magick veterans for scribing their collected knowledge and experiments. Contrary to popular belief, the only reading material containing direct spell knowledge will be Academy-approved research files held in our library. Any "Magick Tomes" you'd find that have access to spells or amplify your spells are strictly prohibited and can very easily earn you a heavy penalty. We feel here that you should only have access to what you are capable to doing on your own, not "jumping the queue". While I'm on the topic, try not to stereotype any particular school here. We appreciate all forms of magick (even morally questionable ones, but we keep those under strict supervision and regulations), and you're very likely to offend someone given the nature of people meeting the wizard prerequisites.

Well, for conjuration we have a plethora of information. We have our introduction courses which will cover basic summoning, which will be your basic weaponry should you choose to be combat-oriented, or smaller animals & animal spirits which can also branch off into druidism or naturomancy if you are so inclined. We also have a necromancy courses to cover more basic reanimation fundamentals, and to top it off could also mean a future in lichdom. With the school of conjuration comes flexibility, so you'll have plenty of choices to specialize in.
While divination is more "miracle" than traditional magick, there are plenty of volunteer groups to take you on and help you with holy magicks. I'd recommend understanding the fundaments of healing first, which can come from basic alchemy, extended naturomancy or even healing 101 that we offer here.
