It took some searching, but I finally, FINALLY, figured out what's wrong with me. This has made me so happy. I have what's called Avoidant Personality Disorder. Does anyone else have this condition? What can be done about it? Thanks.

stop avoiding people and things simply because they make you uncomfortable.
Don't self diagnose, it's retarded.

Here's the main thing to keep in mind. Social interaction is absolutely essential to life and necessary to be a healthy person. While other people are naturally comfortable with social settings avoidants have the misfortune of feeling out of place in them. Do not ever fault yourself for this, just understand you'll have to stretch your comfort zone more than other people have to. This is going to require energy. Get used to surrounding yourself with extroverted people. Look for them and make friends with them. They take care of the heavy lifting like starting conversation, introducing themself, inviting you to things, and the more time you spend with them you'll become more extroverted like them. Occasionally you have that anxiety triggering shit like they pressure you to ask a girl out or talk to someone, and in that case you need to get used to "just doing it". Occasionally they might make a critical comment about you or suggest some stupid shit, for that you need to get used to vocally standing your ground.
