Advice on how to make a really dim flat much cuter?
Right now I can't afford to move to somewhere better so I live in a flat that is small, a little damp, and the walls are old with a bed fixed to the wall that I can't move.
I'd like to give it a do up (within limits of course) so it's much cuter and happier. I have a lot of figures, posters and plushes but even then, it feels cramped and sad here. Here is an example of a smaller space that is still really cosy.
What kinds of things can I do to compensate for the state of the flat? this goes for the small bathroom too I guess!
I'm in need of some tips and ideas, I'm sure I'm not the only person who's had to make do with a glum place before!
Thank you!

pictures of your room would help. not all rooms are created equal as you are clearly aware.
but ultimately the key to any place looking nice is simply to make sure that it is clean and organized, but stil ldecorative. got lots of figures? get some stands or shelves for em. got posters? dont just throw em up wherever, think about where they go.
know someone with a nice room? ask them for help. you'd be surprised how moving the right things within three inches can change everything. I banged this dude on and off who just barely re arranged my living room. same basic spots but spaced more approrpriately i guess and it looked legit. cant figure out how to do that myself.
