>Just graduated high school
>Parents are forcing me to go to college
>Says "It's unacceptable to not go to college within a year of graduating HS"
>Want to study computer science, but am afraid of pajeets taking my jobs and me being in debt.
>Only really wanted to be a freelance, and indie dev on the side. While having a normal slightly above minimum wage job.
Should I go to college ASAP? Are they in the right for saying this? I honestly feel like any type of schooling would be better than college in terms of computer science. Is the debt really worth it?

if they're not putting up the money then they're not in a position to demand anything from you
you're an adult make your own decisions
>Muh pajeets taking my job
Be aware that this is just a meme. If you actually pay attention to what you're studying, put what you're learning to making some personal projects to buff your portfolio(I see a lot of my friends going to hackathons), and get friendly with the people in your major to open up potential career opportunities.
A lot of faggots just spend time only doing the homework and tests and ends up with a useless piece of paper without knowing much. You have to be proactive with these kinds of things, but there's definitely enough jobs out there

>pajeets
Bootcamps exist because the demand for devs is so high. It likely won't change anywhere in the near future. The trick is you actually need to git gud and be proactive in your education.
