If you can handle the paranoia that comes with being a newbie stoner then go for it. If it not just wait till after? I used to get really self aware when I got baked before work. Really wasn't able to control my thoughts and I just looked like I wasn't okay.. even though I was. I handle my highs better now. Remember not all drugs are created equally and have different uses.

I say no. Potheads will try to convince you it's the best thing and not addictive, but quite frankly you're not missing out if you don't do it.
It does make some people slow, unmotivated, etc.

Just find a way to enjoy yourself that doesn't involve fucking up your brain.
