There is a grain of truth in that, being able to pay your bills and avoid sleepless nights is obviously something to strive for. Having a significant other in your life is also something to strive for. Is that the epitome of success? - No, it depends on who you ask.

Girlfriends and jobs are not static entities, you advance through jobs.

Figure out what you want OP, nobody else knows that but you. The passion and drive comes from knowing what you want, or at least have an idea about it and then take the small manageable steps and work towards it.

Want to work in a certain industry? Take the necessary classes and jobs to build towards that. Want a specific job in a specific industry? Start zooming in one somebody currently holding a position that you'd like (LinkedIn is a great tool in this sense, and people are very keen to help you out).

You're currently in crisis because you don't know what you want, and you've probably been floating through life doing what was somewhat expected of you yet without being obligated to whatever you have been doing.

There is a vast difference between doing what is expected of you and making bank. Personal drive is the key here. I understand that you want cash, but if you're in a field you don't care about the chances of you making bank is quite limited.

Through my jobs I've talked to alot of different people from all layers of life and believe me, you do not want to spend the rest of your life going to work when you don't care about it.

I feel you, OP. I do stuff hoping that something will eventually click and it just hasn't. I keep having to move the bar: I'm only a teenager, I'm only still in college, I'm still in my twenties, etc. Hang in there OP. Having the realization that you're unfulfilled is already a good sign, we'll find what to do with ourselves if we just keep trying.
