Does life really have a meaning?

Usually people enjoy living and the small things in life so much that they don't care about the meaning of life.
And at the end of the day most people even find their own personal meaning to life.

neither. people talk abouti it all the time. what you are talking about is called existentialism, and its a large branch of philosophy. there are books about it. a lot of media (TV, movies, etc) are based on the concepts, and the little stories they tell are actually framed by philisophical concepts of existentialism (most notably, buffy the vampire slayer).

depending on who you listen to, existentialism means a lot of things. but the basic idea is as follows

>the universe is inherently meaningless
>the universe is indifferent to us (meaning it doesn't make things purposely good or bad for us, it is in fact random)
>we as humans are not 'predetermined' and can choose to do what we want
>we cannot choose the circumstances that wash over us, but we can choose how to respond to them
>it is our choices that give our lives meaning, and if we act as if we have no choice at all, our lives lose meaning.

ergo, your choices have meaning. the greatest things we humans have to go off of is 'how we feel'. we seem to existj ust to feel things. ergo, if you want your life to mean something, you might want to consider positively influencing others.

after all it doesn't matter if you think life is meaningless, and as long as you are happy its a good life. therefore if you find life meaningless, but someone else doesn't, you should consider doing your best to make those people happy, as you are meaningful to that person when youdo this.

theres a thousand directions this can go as you can imagine. there are a lot of books on the subject as well.

I just recently started walking around and choosing to enjoy the little things, and find something good about everything, no matter how much I hated it, and I am beginning to find life better now, and I don't get so many mood swings.

Do I have the answer to life or have all my problems gone? No, but I now enjoy life, even the problems that I have. Most of all, I am being happy with myself, especially the things about myself that I previously thought that made me boring. I play vidya and watch porn and just drink coffee, and mabye that makes me boring and my life pointless to others, but when I started to be happy with myself, I found that people seemed to like hanging around me more and vice versa, and I didn't actually care so much if people hung around me or not, because I accept myself as a more introverted guy, and even though society tells us a lot of the time to be more extroverted, introverts can do a lot of things that extroverts can't.

Start just enjoying the little things, and also my own advice was to be stop judgjing yourself so much - appreciate the times when things go "wrong" and you do "boring" things. It helps you a lot with more people liking you, and your life ends up becoming a lot easier.

i highly recomend reading some existential stuff.

my favorite (or perhaps the most common) example of existentialism is the legend of sissyphus. hes that greek guy who's job it was to push that rock up the hill every single day, and each and every day, it'd just roll back down. he chooses to find meaning in his life even if there isnt any. its pretty hardcore.

I kind of want to read something like that.
It's just i'm afraid it will mess me up and i'll become psychotic or something. I'm only 18 years and i've had these thoughts since i was 16. Maybe i'm not ready to read something like that. Maybe i worry too much lol. but thanks i'll consider it :)

life has no internal meaning but literally any meaning you give it. it's frightening at first
