If you don't understand the tutorials, arch isn't for you. Hell arch isn't for anyone.

Why would you want to do that?
follow the arch wiki
install gentoo

OP here. Is Gentoo worth it?

What do you actually want to do with this system?

I have used both but gentoo is more stable and almost everything needs to be compile in gentoo. I would not recommend it if your cpu only has two cores like I did because chromium took me a very long time to compile even after setting the flag to use all cores. I like arch better because of aur and it becomes really stable if you filter out the lates kernel and system updates. If you dont then expect something like "pacman -Syu" to break your x or cause issues. Also broacom drivers suck on arch it made me reload them everytime on a kernel udate.
Why even bother? Just download RHEL and get experience with software that the industry actually uses.
