So, I recently was released from the hospital.
I fell, knocked my head, lost conscoiusness, suffered a concussion and had a small amnesia (forgot about half of the day, nothing too spectacular)
>But now I feel different, like I woke up a slightly different person than I was before
>It's often subtle, but my decisionmaking and regular thinking is different than before
>still woke up to only my family being happy because I'm healthy again. My so called "friends" didn't even bat an eye
so, I'm asking you, can such an event change a persons personality? (even slight changes count)

the fact that you're surprised marks you as a dumbass in my book and thus, not worthy of my /adv/ice.
have a nice day princess

Yes. Some studies show long-term depression can occur from even minor head trauma. The brain is a complicated thing, and losing consciousness, suffering from amnesia, and getting a concussion are not small minor or a little deal, it's a very serious head injury. good luck.

Can you give some examples of differences?
I think that changes to the brain risk changes to personality.

still depressed, but a little more sociable.
a lot friendlier and my viewpoint on certain things changed.
I feel like I react quicklier in general,
and am more considerate towards others.
It feels strange, because I'm almost like a different person now.

Maybe that`s temporary, because you feel grateful that you managed to wake up and keep going after the accident. Give it a while.

Yes.

I kind of wish I didn't wake up though.
Well, I hope it is only temporary, because it's really weird to be completely different from like you were the day before

Lots of events on a humans life can change their views on life. Breakups, severe diseases, horrible accidents etc.
So your answer is yes, it's pretty normal.

because now I feel bad because I changed, so I theoretically don't have a reason to feel bad, but I still do, because essentially before this incident, I felt bad. I have no reason to not feel bad, but I don't, because I changed. a lot. I don't appreciate that.
