Going bald in your 20's

I'm going bald I'm 33. I don't really care honestly. Not sure why I think because my self esteem has always been low and I got used to that being OK. It does bug me sometimes but luckily it doesn't too much.


I'm seeing a psychologist and she might be helping me. Long story short on that part look up "tapping method" or "EFT" and start doing it because I think this lady might be onto something.

She also brought up another good point that I'm "projecting" my thoughts. I know what that is but never actually gave it much thought that what I think people are paying attention to are really what I'm paying attention to. You want to think if you're projecting your thoughts.

Do you think woman don't like you because of it? do you realize a woman that won't like you when you're bald isn't worth being around?

Baldie reporting in. Same thing here, except started receeding at 17. It sucks big time, bud the best way is to embrace it. Took me a year to shrug it off but it still sucks, you know.

Post a pic of yourself. I know a few guys who are absolutely sexy with receeded hairline, might be your case. Also having a beard helps alot. Working out aswell

I guess it just worries me. I know the vast majority of women, especially my age, are very superficial and prefer a man with a thick head of hair.

Like I mentioned before I've suffered from anxiety which had at times made me socially awkward. usually a girl would show obvious signs she liked me and even found it cute. I just feel like bald + awkward will just come off as creepy.

Hair and beard is messy right now. Just got home from work and haven't showered yet.

My hair started thinning at 19, and by 22 it was to the point you could see through to the scalp. I bit the bullet and bought a pair of clippers and decided to just shave it every week. It doesn't look good, but it looks much better than if I were to let it grow out any.

I'm in the same relationship before it got bad, and my s/o doesn't mind the shaved look, but she misses my hair.

I've saved hundreds of dollars on hair cuts though, so it's economical at least.

Well, you might be right as how they perceive you but I will tell you that a guy with a weird personality and hair can easily be more of a weirdo than a guy with a good personality and no hair.

You probably deep inside feel like you creep girls out of are a reject in a way even with hair and losing hair will make it worse. You need to fix your attitude and become more friendly and work on communication skills. YOu're worrying about the wrong thing.

I buzz my own hair clippers even though I'm going bald. I hate even letting my hair grow out a little bit. Of course I don't want to go bald but I suppose I would hate it worse if I actually wanted a lot of hair which I don't. You can save money by cutting your own hair also.

Just know that you could always try finasteride. I'm 21 atm. It worked for me and I don't suffer from side effects.

I have a similar predicament at 23. My hairline is pretty high and peaked, but I'm not sure that I'm balding. My hairdresser can't tell, but I've recently noticed a slight thinning in the front.

Feels bad man. I haven't even got the chance to have gf yet.

24 as well, hair is starting to become thinner I think. I'm tempted to try out a buzzcut, glad I've got a beard.

Any femanon opinions? I'm not OP but I don't care about mens opinions on balding, what do actual women think?

I'm a guy, not baldiing but I have a close buzzcut. I don't think hair matters much to girls, in fact I think they care more about what your face looks like, true? An ugly guy is just ugly with or without hair.

No, people that loose their hair, but keep trying to grow it long, are the ones loosing attractivity.

People that say "fuck it!" and go completely short-haired have no problems. It looks more masculine, it's cheaper to maintain compared to monthly forays to the local overpriced hairdresser since you can cut your hair yourself.

Depends so much. Some girls are decidedly into bald guys, some don't mind, others can't handle it. I'm sorry to say, but I have no sexual attraction whatsoever to bald men. Couldn't imagine any man looked better bald, and hair is so important to me on a man - I just love it. I love my own hair too, it's important to me and a big part of my appearance, and I want to be able to run my fingers through someones hair when we kiss etc. I don't care much about height or anything, but hair is something I can't compromise. It's a big part of the attraction to a guy for me.

You're not really balding. I lose a significant chunk of my hairline starting at 17. By 22 it was just patchy and ugly as shit in the front.

Here's how I coped with it (25 years old now)

1.) I make a lot of money
2.) I shave/buzz my head and rock the bald + beard look
3.) Got in better shape

I have never heard any negative remarks about being bald. In fact I get compliments on it. It's all about how you carry yourself and what else you can offer. Being bald and embracing it is 9999x better than letting it thin and trying to hide it, or being noticeably self conscious about it.
