Does reading books help you concentrate and help remember things

What is your study method? Visual learner?

We need more details to help. Most likely the way you're studying is inefficient in helping you learn. All people memorize in different ways.

In high school, I liked to read a nice easy bit of fiction during class. Then, I mapped what I heard the teacher say onto the plot as I stored it in long term memory

its important to take notes in class, even if you don't review your notes (though you should) the act of just writing down the important points helps commit them to memory

It gets annoying, and I thought you were another one of them. But you're in high school, I wouldn't even stress school that much if I were you. IMO you should go to a CC once you graduate and plan on transferring after 1.5-2 years of attending. Best thing I ever did.

Everything from HS disappears if you start at a CC, your transcript, standardized test scores, nothing matters. It's basically a second chance to do better while at the same time getting warmed up to college level education.

Err I don't want to go to a CC here, it sucks and has like a two rating about the college, i'm trying to avoid CC and just go to university.

The only thing about community college is if you do well in them but not well in high school, your scholarships to 4-year colleges won't be as good.
Is there reason to believe you're smart? Maybe you're just not that bright and shouldn't sweat it. What type of things do you tend to like?
