There's someone I like, but I'm kind of getting mixed messages in return. What do I do?
Give us an example

Well, on one occasion the person actually quite willingly held hands with me, and on another we sorta-cuddled through a significant part of a movie, but most of the time there's not a lot of interest in physical contact on their part.

(added note) I mean, like, they don't seem interested in any such thing at all.

(another added clarification) Most of the time I mean. Boy, I am too used to sites that let you edit your post after you make it!
S/he's just not all that onto you.

I don't see any mixed signals here. She/he hold your hand and cuddled. That would be a very bold sign in my books.

I say 'mixed signals' because occasions of showing that kind of interest in me are quite rare; very usually there's no such interest.
If it's a guy, he's obviously into you. If it's a girl, she's not that into you.

It's a guy.
Further question: How should I go about pursuing the situation? I don't want to screw it up.
Oh, by the way, note that I'm a guy too, if that's relevant.
