I'm a dental student, I might be able to help but I can't guarantee. If you can take a very clear photo, I could diagnose with some degree of certainty.

From your description however: sensitivity to cold but not hot is more indicative of dry socket. Radiating pain, too, although that's also indicative of infection. It's likely both, maybe a minor dry socket/exposed area and it's become infected.

Do we look like insurance agents? The best thing you can do is go get it fixed. Since it's related to the wisdom tooth removal, it's most likely on the dentist to cover the cost. From there, the receptionist will work with your insurance to figure out who is gonna pay for it.

Also why is everyone treating me like shite? It's not like I wanted to be in agony. Yes I wanted to get this procedure done while I'm young so I never have to worry about wisdom teeth again, so yes I asked for it, but I didn't ask to be in THIS much pain.

Like I said I was fine at first but the pain just skyrocketed on day #3. Called the dentist office perhaps five hours ago and all she said was "But it's the third day after surgery, it's its peak". Yeah it typically hurts after getting teeth pulled but this much?

Were you not told to keep gauze by the extraction point for a couple of days? Typically you keep gauze somewhat tightly packed in place for 36-48 hours, then take it out and eat small room temperature foods and just water for at least another couple of days. After 4-5 days you should be back to normal.

For me personally, I've never had a painful extraction or after the fact. Lots of bleeding and some pressure, but never any kind of pain. I'd question which dentist you used as my experience should be what you're having.

No? All it mentioned gauze was to stop the bleeding, changing the gauze every 20 minutes for 1 hour.

I was just given a few pieces of paper outlining post-op instructions, which was gone over with a nurse. I read and understood but didn't really know what I was in store for.

at my house it is very stressful, yelling is the only way you can be heard here. I have to step in a lot to be the peacekeeper because of so much domestic violence. sucks not being able to talk
