>every picture I see on Facebook is in an open field or in front of a tractor and hay bails
>have only seen one job in the paper in the past month and it requires a car
>4 months out of the year its -30 with 100 inches of snow

How the fuck do you leave this? I'm too stupid for college but all I want to do is be poor in a big city. I don't need any luxury at all I just want to live somewhere good.

Well op, do you have ANY relatives somewhere else?
Otherwise you may just have to look on craiglist for chaep room in virginia, florida, texas, california and then buy a bus ticket. Then go litterally to every place within walkinh diatance of new place and find part time work, explain your story to manager. Hustle goes a long way.

Can Florida or cali be cheap?
Miami and la are my top choices
>>16481065
do you have work experience?
There are also some seasonal jobs that will provide housing. Or americorp which will put some money in your pocket/housing so you can save up to move into a city and find a job there.
you'll also benefit from sharing a place with a stranger.

Not as cheap as you're probably used to, and definitely not in the prime tourist areas.
OP i live in the bronx where usually everyone who cant afford the 5000 dollar apartments in "the city" live. Theres a lot of violence, theres trash in every street, subway, elevator, and building. pic related is most likely what your going to end up living in.

Living in a shitty area is expected it doesn't bother me

Yeah but not a lot I could never find jobs in high school so I only started working after I started college and I left college with no degree and I only spent a few months at a fast food joint and a grocery store. I've been looking my ass off for a job that's not fast food but it's really hard here.

How cheap does it get in those shit boroughs?
>>16481136
well, either military or americorp until you save some money and then find a place elsewhere. it's nearly impossible to walk into a job in a big city, it sometimes takes months to get work

Where in upstate NY do you live?
Move to Albany.
>>16481227
I said a big city not a dump
>>16481226
There's no way. There's just no way jobs are hard to come by there unless you mean higher up positions

Living in the Midwest or southwest are pretty cheap in big cities. I've lived in Phoenix, Indianapolis, Detroit, st.Louis. All were affordable. Indy/Phoenix both had a lot of jobs.
Research whatever city you want. California is expensive, idk anything about Miami.. Find shared housing on Craig's list at first, you rent a room for cheap. Apply at places online before you go. Make your move.

I was thinking of starting off in Vegas or Phoenix then making my move to ca from there but I'm afraid of lying to myself and staying there forever
