Would you consider things such as proactiv or another lotion a drug? I used it and it worked perfectly

Fucked med school interview due to autism and being a fucking white male. Have a place for biomed at a decent russel group uni, but thinking about trying to switch to economics or something. I find them both kind of interesting. Don't really wanna grind out in a lab and wan't to actually make serious money. Thoughts? Didn't do maths at A level which is bit of an issue but did ace physics

Do economics. I did a biomedical science degree and decided I prefer economics after doing stats electives towards the end of it. Come to think of it the only interesting biomed subject is immunology and it's not worth doing a whole degree for one interesting subject. The only point in learning medical science is to get into another degree like medicine, graduate research, pharmacy or allied health.

Do economics.

Graduated last year and now work as a research assistant for the bank.

Just for your warning, economics is tough. Lots of mathematics, statistic classes and microeconomics is tough as shit. The fourth year electives are also no walk in the park.

Caffeine reduces your body's ability to get rid of adrenaline, which causes adrenaline to build up in your body, temporarily, until the effects of caffeine wear off.

What ways exist to either reduce adrenaline production, or enhance adrenaline removal by the body? I know slow and deep breathing helps relax people, but does that have an actual physiological effect on adrenaline in the body?

Mostly curious because I know drinking coffee gets me on-edge and high strung because of the epinephrine buildup, so I'd like to know what I can do to mitigate the feeling.

tl;dr need a pharmocology/biology/drugs student to explain the body's natural epinephrine regulation process and what behaviour reduces either its production or (preferably) increases its rate of removal from the body.

In return I present a short video of a flyby of the dwarf planet Ceres that's in our asteroid belt.

Should I text a girl I'm trying to fuck while it's raining? I feel like rain is an omen or something and I should wait till it stops. I personally don't care but girls are weird about stuff like this and I want to make sure she replies

You should be fucking her right now, to cheer her up.

depends on the girl really, but it would probably help more than bring harm.
if she's a normie type, she'll probably be bored enough to respond
if she's the couch potato type, she'd already be home and ready to reply anyways.

So i finally finished my second semester of college at now age 22.
Going the route of a welder, before summer vacation i avoided looking for a workshop to take me in for further learning.

It's all anxiety, i am so uncertain at my ability to do the work they expect me to do.
My deadline for moving out is the 25 august.
Had a cleaning job for about a month now earning some money. Need apartment, work.
Have one friend in the area that has his own girlfriend and life to attend.

I see myself alone in an apartment, working against loneliness and anxiety day after day.
which was my previous experience at college dorm. My sisters moved down south and have partners of their own.
The only family i have left up here is my mother.
My friends and family all live down south.
I know i must go for it.
but life looks empty the way i'm heading.

so, my friend here is in a very unhappy relationship (been about 2 years) and, he doesn't get off to sex, he's not attracted to her, and its just annoying to talk to her and socialize with her.

But he is very afraid to break up with her, because she's ballsoffthewallls crazy, and she's literally been in psyche ward recently. He is 100% convinced (or knows) that she'll kill herself if they break up, and doesn't really want to deal with having a death on his hands.

He's kinda in a dark place, drinking everynight and stuff, and i think he really needs to be with someone who he can love and who loves him and makes him happy. I've met her, she comes over with him all the time (im renting a room to him), and she is pretty god damn boring, and not very attractive honestly.

What should he do? He's young (just turned 21), and wants to explore his life and have fun a little while why young.

What do? How does he let her down without having blood on her hands?

I'm currently about to begin college and I'm wondering how I should handle my work life during college. I already work at another job which gives me a little less than 20 hours a week at $8/hr. (It will be more when business gets busy. I'm at a movie theater so it gets insane during Christmas for example) I applied to another place that would give me a little bit more than 20 hours a week starting at $10/hr. The thing is I'm interested in a management position at my current job, and one will open up in at most a year, if not sooner, and I think I have a fairly high chance of getting it if I just stick with a valiant work ethic. They do view me pretty highly there because I shut up and listen to what they tell me among other things. That's my reasoning for why I want to keep my job, but I do want this new one because more money. Assuming I get it, should I keep both and do school, or just do the one job. During highschool I had school for about 32ish hours a week and worked for about 22ish and I was so exhausted all the time.

And if I were to gain a management position I'd be making approximately $13/hr and have about 25ish hours a week. Plus it would look good on a resume.

I live equal distance from both jobs.

What do you guys think?

Bump before I go to bed. Any more opinions? If it matters I'm 18, moving to a place where I'll pay rent every month (so that's why money is pretty important to me), and going to community college

Firstly take the job that covers your needs.

Then look at internships. When it comes to post graduation job hunt that's what really matters. No relevant experience equals a hard time.

Over the past 2 years, I've seem to have lost my ability to filter things out. Not only do I feel terrible (sometimes to the point of inactivity) when anything bad happens in my life even on minor scale, but I now start to feel terrible when bad things happen to OTHER people. As though it affects me personally somehow.

Depression isn't the sadness, depression is your body's inability to recover from sadness. Seeing other people's hardships might be stacking on yours entrenching you deeper into a state of constant negativity.

So we just did a year at this place, me and 3 roommates. We all work together. They were very gung-ho about signing another year lease. This was signed at the beginning of July. My name is not on lease, only 2/4 of us signed. I didn't really want to commit to another year, but was pressured into because of reasons like
>"well if we all don't stay then we're screwed because we don't have a deposit saved up or another place to even move to so we should probably just stay here right? yeah? okay settled."
Thats pretty much how it went down. I felt guilted into staying because if I don't then I put 3 of my friends/coworkers in a pickle because then they're either forced out, have to make up the financial difference, or have to find another roommate which is difficult because of the location of the house (~20 min drive from town, another reason why I want to leave)
I want out of this house but feel forced to stay. Wat do?

i recommend you stick it out you did agree , and next year 3 months before the lease is to be signed for another year tell them you are leaving once the lease is up , this will give them time to find either a money for the difference or b another roommate.

I have a friend in AA, and he's doing really really well. He's reached Step 9 of the 12 Steps to Recovery. I'm very proud of him. Pic most definitely not related.

Anyway, Step 9 is the step where recovering alcoholics make amends with those whom they may have hurt with their habits and behaviors in the past, and I am one of the people with whom he'd like to make amends.

I don't feel as though he's hurt me in any specific or even direct way. Almost all of my memories of him are very pleasant, although our behavior during that time may have been unhealthy for the both of us.

Any of you had to do this? I'm just wondering how to sit down with him and discuss these things in an appropriate way, be constructive, and build on our relationship.

Thanks for the help!

Honestly, the drunk person usually feels 10000x worse then the people they may have affected.

I've had people apologize to me about what they said when they were drunk, and i completely apologized.
Also, I've felt guilty for months for a drunken mistake i had made, and when i mention it the person ususally says "oh yeah lol that was funny".

So just be supportive of your friend. Perhaps he feels guilty about something, just let him get if off his chest.

Hi /adv/

I really want to apply for college for September.
And I'm not talking like university level college, I'm talking like culinary school level college.
The course I'm interested in requires two grade 12 courses; but I got my GED in grade 11 so I don't have credits or anything I can carry over from high school.
But it's almost August and they're still taking applications for this course (nutrition). Which tells me it's probably not a very popular choice, and they may be desperate to fill seats.

Do you think I have a good chance at getting in? I'm really broke and I don't want to pay the 100$ application fee if I don't have a chance; but it's pretty obvious I'm somewhat articulate, so maybe they'll overlook it because I'm not a bumpkin?

Either way thanks!

I don't know much about it, but from what you're saying I'd suggest giving it a go! Chances sound good and I f they're looking to fill seats all the more reason to put some money aside to really do what you like. Only do it though if you think it's genuinely a career you'd be interested in - don't just do it because it's available
>>
>>18555916
I imagine a state GED, regardless of when you got it, should cover all high school level entry requirements.

Especially if it's a for profit college. Though, you shouldn't go to a for profit college.
