Hey, /adv/, this is my first time on this board, but it's probably about the most confusing and difficult situation I've been in for a long time, and I seriously need good advice. Please listen as I explain the situation.

For a level-3 Poli. Sci. class I'm taking there was a standard research paper I had to write and I felt I did a pretty good job on it, having worked, researched, and edited my way through it for a solid month. Now the teacher hands it back to us, and I got a mother****** C+.

Now, I know for a fact that I'm a good writer, and I also did comprehensive research on the topic. It turns out she took away all those points purely because of my supposed citation problems, namely, that I did not cite enough academic journals and too many news sources. Now, without boring you about the details, I asked her clearly whether I could have used the sources I did and in the ways that I did and previously received her permission, but now she is twisting her way out of it, claiming her permission was "relative," "not what I thought", etc, etc.

Basically, she is a Spaniard that has a poor handle on english, and is somewhat arrogant, and doesn't understand she explicitly gave me permission to do something that she took 45 points /100 away for. How do you convince someone like this that they're wrong and argue your way to at least a B+ or higher? How to deal with narrow-minded teachers who hold your future in their hands and irresponsible about it? Everyone who did my topic received a bad grade from her for mostly the same reason, and I think we have a good case to bring to the admin. to have our work regraded. Do I try to convince her myself still, and how would I do that, or do I not bother and go with the appeals process?

Am I a scumbag for not wanting to go to my sister's uni graduation on account of one of my best mates flying across the country to come see me?

I haven't seen my mate in over a year and he's one of the closest people to me. If I go to my sister's graduation, I won't even be watching her, I'll have to watch the ceremony from some random room through a tv screen, and she doesn't want my mate to come to it because she doesn't know him.

Any help is much appreesh

how do you put up with other people when discussing a political anything?
Everytime I go on facebook I see fallacies being spammed everyone and completely moot points
Its so depressing.
Or headliners that read "first pregnant men ever gives birth to 3 kids" and obviously its just a tranny.
Or Someone takes the time to construct a decent counterargument and then someone will reply making it personal "u only say that becoz ure ugly"
I know we do this shit on 4chan too, but we do it ironically or to get rid of newfags but these people are seriously like this. That is how they think they win an argument. They act on feelings without any rationale.

WHY ARE PEOPLE LIKE THIS

I dont want to be a part of this. This is all going nowhere, the governments and the conspiracy bred us for stupidity, dumb people are easy followers

How do you put up with unintelligent people?

For some fucked up stupid reason. My boyfriend told his bros that we were mad at each other and that I abuse him when no one is around. My boyfriend was being so sarcastic that I don't even know if his friends realize he was joking. My boyfriend won't own up to it because he thinks it's funny to joke about. Well, maybe for the first few months.

It's been three years and my boyfriend's friends have still not let it go. Whether it be in person, on social media, etc. If bf shares something physical or an article even slightly relating to something like that. His friends will be like "Oh like the time she hit you?" Even now, it seems bf is getting tired of it, but he will never admit to fault

Like, it was slightly funny three years ago. But now it's just driving me insane. I don't show that I'm angry to his friends. They try to call me out on it. I've told them multiple times that it was an accident before just giving up about it.

Even for the first year or so of this joke, my boyfriends friends thought I was a total cunt because my boyfriend would sarcastically joke about me being upset with him or use me as an excuse not to go out with them when he's tired (ie "oh my gf doesn't like it when i hang out with you guys"). Now I'm kinda friends with his friends, but this bad joke is never-ending.

What do?

This has happened to me ever since i was a kid. It's a bit hard to explain but I'll do my best.

It's just a random strange feeling where my surroundings seem really surreal. it's completely random, I just look at everything in the room i'm in, and suddenly they look odd. Sometimes they look really far away even though they're not, or I see them as larger in scale then they actually are. I also get this strange jittery feeling in my head, almost like a something fast is going on in my brain, with thoughts of repetitive noise looping in my head and I can't shake it. this happens like once or twice a month, and it usually lasts about 20 minutes,

It's not really a bad feeling or anything, just strange. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I be concerned?

Should I break up with my girlfriend?

Here's some notes to keep in mind

- I'm 18M
- First ever girl friend
- dating for 7 months, 8 on the 15th
- she has been in several relationships, all of which she did not enjoy and regrets
- GF says I'm one of the best things that ever happened her, I help deal with her depression and suicidal thoughts.
- she somehow thinks I'm really attractive. This one doesn't matter but still blows my mind LOL

We've taken several classes together throughout high school but I never really noticed her, she told me she's tried talking to me before. I ended up talkin to her through FB after she wished me a happy birthday cause I was more confident talking to girls, we started dating soon after.

Things went fast, went from holding hands to fingering and oral about 2 weeks in, and sex in less than a month. She really cares for me, and I care for her, but a lot of times I get nervous and create problems for no reason.

I tell her about my thoughts of possibly ending it every few months, for no apparent reason or fight, just because I get nervous. One time she actually broke up with me, but we got back together 2 weeks later.

I've realized I have serious commitment issues, and the reason I want to leave her is because I haven't experienced any other relationship, and I get scared at the idea of me sticking around when I could potentially find something better.

Our relationship is great, but sometimes I just psych myself out. I think I'm honestly too immature when it comes to relationships because I'm still new to it, and sometimes I feel ending it would be for the best.

But I'm too afraid to commit to either idea. I don't want to lose her and possibly miss out on a great and fruitful relationship, but I also don't want to miss out on what other people can offer me.

Any advice welcome, I really would appreciate it.

Why do men keep thinking that being assertive and direct is the key to your heart? Even though direct and assertive approaches is the creepiest way to approach us?

Why do they think that once they meet you, you both should start dating right away? Despite, at least for me, I hate dating a guy unless I've taken the time to get to know him first. Why is that always so hard for men to understand?

I honestly dont understand whats wrong with my gf parents:

Sometimes they seem okay and kind, other times they are assertive and act like pricks and I dont know what triggers it, almost like a controlling type attitude. Sometimes they'll put their nose up at me. They believe that if your not at uni or had a degree your a worm

Today I had surgery on my nose because calcium had built up on one side and had to get this operated on. After coming back from the hospital to visit my gf parents we had a chat with them then said we were leaving, they followed us back to the car and tried to get us to have dinner with them. When we told them we were both tired and wanted to just go back to mine and relax (after the 5th time) they put their nose up at me and shook their head.

What is causing this type of behavior? its almost as if they have some sort of controlling/psychosis , its pretty simple to understand:
